I don't know if Smarter is or not. When the dj was talking about it, it sounded like the guy was just wanting to play a song off the new album. Also, Eisley apparently didn't even know about him playing it until after the fact. Kudos to him for playing it just because he could, though, if that's what happened. A lot of radio stations around here will play an entire album that's about to or that has just released. I think it's cool, even if I don't always like what they're playing. _________________ cynlovescandy wrote: kulvir wrote: I bet R. Kelly approves of peeing in the shower. The world is R. And speaking of videos, does anyone know what the first single is gonna be? I think The Valley would be a nice pick.. or maybe it's Ambulance because that's the first song they gave away to download? I want to say there was some talk of working on a video at the end of last year. _________________ I am Torgo. I take care of the place while the Master is away. |

^I remember that, too. The only problem I have for them making a music video for "Ambulance" is that it might get lost in translation and get cheesy. I could even see it being turned into a angry/angsty, possibly slighty emo video if put into the wrong hands. That's one of the only things I'm concerned of, but if Eisley really has as much freedom as they say, I think they'd probably speak up if something starting going downhill. _________________ cynlovescandy wrote: kulvir wrote: I bet R. I have access to ambulances, if needed. *wink wink* For a small cameo, of course. _________________ Jamie (the female version) |

Really hoping it doesn't end up being one of those videos where you see the effects of a crash and it has some kind of twist ending like the singer is really a ghost or the person killed is their best friend and they just fought, etc. All I can think of is Everybody Hurts, though there is no ambulance. _________________ I am Torgo. Seriously, I dread the potential melodrama that might come with an Ambulance video. I think finding a balance between appropriate emotion and not being totally cliche is paramount. I'd rather they just leave that one to be licensed for use in TV dramas and let them work that song. I just don't trust a vid to do it justice. I mean, a lot of these songs are so personal and the metaphors are thinly veiled, so I'm all for really creative vids for the songs that are more nebulous like the Valley or have the potential for exciting visuals and maybe a little humor, like Smarter. _________________ yup, that's my name. Same here. I'd be all for that. _________________ cynlovescandy wrote: kulvir wrote: I bet R. Kelly approves of peeing in the shower. The world is R. Kelly's shower. It's a golden world. ^ those are cool, but sometimes it steals away from the song. I think this go around, the videos that get made need to stand out a little bit more, to herald a new era, visually appealing, and as exciting and creative as the music tends to be at times (for the songs I mentioned). That's just me. It's tough these days cause EVERYTHING has been done, twice. _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons.
