Yeah, if anything I think a song like "Sad" would be more controversial than "Please"... and I don't think "Sad" is either. _________________ www.kailahandler.bandcamp.com |

I am really ignorant on the gossip surround all the Eisley stuff, but based on the lyrics, isn't the song saying that whoever it was She's singing about was "conveniently" there per the thread about the performance with the lyrics: And he tells me he's unfaithful So now I need for you to tell me it's alright Please, oh please don't do this to me, baby Please, oh please don't get up and leave I fall, you were there to expose him, what a smooth plan I should've seen through your disguise Surprise, you found a replacement and again, I have no knowledge of all the rumors and gossip, but from the words it sounds like Guy B, played a part in ratting out Guy A, whoever that is, and then cheats... or whatever... I guess if people are still looking to take sides or cast stones, more power to them. Success is the best revenge. It's water under the bridge, fodder for an incredibly moving song. _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. Without getting too far into their personal lives, I'd say you pretty much nailed it in that break-down... Jesse cheated and wanted to work it out and Chad comforted her and won her over. And then Chad cheated and bailed. _________________ EvilSpace |

That was my guess, only because when Daisy came out people on the LC got into a discussion about the song Houses and the original lyrics and Jesse "still not being over it". That was the first I got wind of the rumors. And of course the pot got stirred periodically with the release of a song here, and interview their etc. etc. etc. Thing about artists, especially musicians, is that you write what you know for the most part, and the result is life can be transparent and you make yourself very vulnerable. It's a slippery slope. I will say this. Once I found out what Layla was about, and how it all turned out, i seriously hoped that at some point George Harrison slugged Eric Clapton square in his mug, and it was bittersweet everytime I saw people call him out (Clapton) to play the solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps after his passing. But, if they could get over it, so should I. I still got principles though. On the flipside, 30+ years later Rolling Stone still posts articles every time they think someone knows who Your So Vain is about. So, it is possible to keep things close to the vest if you really want to. Artistically it can work either way. _________________ yup, that's my name.
