192 Days, Vintage People, and Marsh King's Daughter... are all good examples of a vibe it's cool to know they can pull off, but I would never put on a mixtape for someone. They're perfect hidden tracks like 12 Gracious Melodies on STP's "purple", curveball departures for kicks. I want to hear high quality of the songs, cause the snippets sound a little harsh as far as the mixing, which is contrary to what's playing in the back of the Andy Freeman video, which is seamlessly mixed. The snippets don't come close to that. _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. My boyfriend always makes fun of me because whenever Eisley releases previews for an upcoming album or EP I listen to them regularly, like they're real songs... What is it about Eisley that makes me so obsessed? I don't do this with any other band haha. Well, besides Sucre now.. I'm sure that will be happening. _________________ www.kailahandler.bandcamp.com |

i'm not crazy about 192 days, but it's a lot better than the garageband demo, which i think is proof that rerecording and remixing can really affect the vibe of a song. it's not as sickly love struck as the demo, though arrangement wise, it doesn't seem to different with the exception of the added piano. also, olimario you confuses me as you say that you don't like the new rock eisley but like the last two songs on the ep. are you forgetting that the second half of one last song follows the same vein as laugh it off and deep space? that is of course what we know of laugh it off and deep space from those short 30 second clips. regardless, i think i hear a lot of potential for all the new songs so far. i'm hoping they continue their current trend and get even better for lp4. in particular, i'm looking forward to hearing the eisley sailor song that sherri and stacy tweeted to each other about a while back _________________ Oneironaut http://www.facebook.com/ChengBand |

None of these do for me what the previews for Ambulance and The Valley did for me. Completely fair statement. but... these tracks are coming 10 months after a release, those came, maybe like 2.5 years after one (not counting the live vids for Smarter and Kind). Hunger is the best seasoning after all. But in contrast (to my own contention), The Valley and Ambulance are unprecedented songs for Eisley, new territory on both counts. These tracks strike me as refinements and revisions on the kind of music they came of age digging, with their own spin applied. This coming from a big mid 90s Post Punk/Art Rock/ Emo fan... so I'm predisposed to love the retconned & reconfigured guitar attacks + trip hoppy ambiance. _________________ yup, that's my name. Every time I listen to the snippets, I actually become a little upset that the song doesn't keep going. At least it's not a very long wait. _________________ Taylor | @thbrogan http://inconnumag.com |
Who is judging the EP already? People are giving their opinions based on what was posted.
You have every right to say your opinions of the snippets! Personally I think it would be better to wait and hear the full thing before you form too much of an opinion because song snippets can be misleading. Kind of like judging a movie by its trailer. |

I love those Amazon clips! Judging from the clips I think One Last Song and Laugh it off will be my favorites. I'm glad they released another version of 192 days. Lights Out and Deep Space sound good too but I would like to wait until I recieve the EP before I judge, but I'm sure I'll love them. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/karatherecluse http://www.rosewhiteboyhood.tumblr.com |

Speaking of preordering the EP, did y'all see the t-shirt in the bundle being offered? It's hilarious -- Weston's face is priceless. _________________ "I cannot discuss your verses; for any attempt at criticism would be foreign to me.
