This is one of those videos where I actually would love to hear the audio from the actual live performance, it looks so fun https://youtu.be/KL_dI3GtB4o

I thought there was a making the video for this on Mtv, but I found this instead, and go figure, Michel Gondry directed it.

I was thinking of posting the Sweater Song actually...

Track 1 was what made me buy this album, track 2 is what made me a fan...

That movie itself is great and that viral video was one of the first "viral" videos I can recall.

All I can say about this next video is that the level of self-consciousness & irony that must have been involved in it's creation and execution says a lot about the artistic vision behind it. Say what you will about Kanye, but he's up through My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy era his videos got progressively better in terms of cinematic quality... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ila-hAUXR5U

Still love that song, best use of that "Walk On By" sample this side of Compton's Most Wanted's "Hood Done Took Me Under" video version. If only their follow up albums had been in the same vain & less euro-lounge-techno...

Taking it back to 95-96' and the era of awesome samples

Nice. I really want that pickup too.

Here's a video I stumbled upon. A retro new wave, wave synth or something genre I kinda like but don't know anything about. I don't know if these are real bands, young or old, just for fun or to cash in on a 80's nostalgia or what. I like this video though, it's done like an old point & click, adventure pc game. The song is pretty good too.

Halfway through the video I came to the conclusion that they must be from Europe because the amount of support it would take to get a video like that made (and the thumbnails of the others look really well done with lots of practical effects and animation) would equate to me having heard to them if they were from here.

I was right. Laughing Cool stuff all around. With Stranger Things blowing up 80s synth music they stand to get some more love come October.

The Fugees video has a lot of 90s hip hop video tropes (I almost wish the video was just 100% the story component soundtracked by the song) but oh well. I do like the retro style cinematography in the exotic local. It fits the sample really well.

I could pick a song that matches the vibe of Gunship by a side project of this artist, but instead I'm going to pick the first video of theirs that made me decide I ought to buy their albums:

Title & Registration

Some of those GUNSHIP thumbnails are to just lyric videos and the pictures they used are from movies. The Fly For Your Life video uses footage from an older computer animated short film not specifically made for GUNSHIP. I just watched one of their official videos that was made using GTA5 hehe. Which reminds me, I made a music video using GTA4 and it's one of the few music videos I didn't take down out of copyright strike fears. I like it so it qualifies heh.

Ahhhhh... GUNSHIP with the clickbait eh?!?!?!? Sneaky.

THE GTA V UNKLE video is cool. Cool Well done indeed.

Here's one of my favorite artists, a good example where a video and song match up and represent the artist well:

Caustic Light by Shannon Wright

Oh yeah I forgot to say that I didn't set out to make a music video so it's kinda meh. I was just recording clips of game play with some buddies. They have a list of songs you can add to your project in the in-game video editor so I picked a track. I edited a couple of spots to match a beat here and there.

Anyway, here's a video that seamlessly mixed clips from an old movie that I liked (Vanishing Point) with a song I liked.

I never realized that they pulled some of that footage from an actual film. I just assumed they just shot a 70s chase file homage top to bottom. Ha!

There are a few videos that are similar in them. I am picking one more. Rabbit in the Headlights was the first. Incubus's Warning is next https://youtu.be/KoPlkmYaEQs

Sia's Titanium is the third https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRfuAukYTKg

also Radiohead's Just https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_qMagfZtv8
