There was a lot of personal information about their lives in those threads that is well past them at this point, be it about family and relationship matters, and even music business interactions that in retrospect they make want to keep close to the vest going forward, so I can see them pulling that stuff away and letting the music speak for itself in that regard.

Always keeping an eye out for new stuff I've never heard before, and as of late there is more of it of high quality. Here one's for six degrees of separation:

I was a fan of Chocolate Genius Inc.
Who is the Father of Tessa Thompson
and father of Zsela, who evokes Joni Mitchell & Beth Orton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDmqIWi77P8

And connecting some other dots in multiple ways:

Monica Martin was in Phox, and did a Violents Album with Jeremy Larson, and has a solo album on the way and the first two singles have been ear worms.

If you ever wonder what could have happened if the retro indie pop flourishes of Eisley were influenced a generation of young singer songwriters, kind of like they did in Merriment, what it might sound like??? Monica has one of those "just on the cusp of faltering" vibratos like Christie, that conveys so much emotion without pushing on straining.

Well check out Cruel (has a casual cuss) https://youtu.be/9T-7MRj7-b4

And for that quasi trip hop mood music vibe they Eisley can conjure up?
And then check out Thoughtless ( another casual cuss ) https://youtu.be/0___viFMFjY

I know this band, and I am pretty sure I own these albums. This one definitely sounds like Jeremy Larson's earlier stuff. Now I have to ask myself what band I was into that they either evolved into or share members with that I got their albums. Pretty sure they became Reign of Kindo, yup that's what it was.

But of course, I remember you were really big on Deas Vail and this definitely vibes with that era of proggy indie rock.

Also really digging "I Don't Know How But They Found Me."

It's a two-person band. Lead singer used to play bass for Panic at the Disco, but probably has as good or better voice than Brendon Urie! Kind of amazing.

They sound totally like 1980s music, and some of their videos even pretend to be an actual 80s or earlier band whose VHS videos were just rediscovered.

"Do It All The Time": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXzPxBhhmY8

(Description of the video: "This footage was first thought to be a conceptual art piece produced by the band before making music videos had become standard music industry practice. While the exact date and circumstances under which it was produced are unclear, the anonymous donor of the footage claims that it had been screened to students for nearly twenty years as part of the public school curriculum, until its use was discontinued in 1984…")

All of that is false, of course.

"Leave Me Alone": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwpnuaBoKPU ("This video was delivered anonymously. Labeled only as ‘LMA Tellexx Lab Footage’. The date of the recording is unknown.")

"Sugar Pills" (amazing vocals): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wv6cN-y6ps4

"Modern Day Cain": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieThrn5Ujmg This video pretends to be a "performance from the cable access series 'Superstar Showcase' (1983)"

Oh wow, this is pretty good.
I remember the Guitarist who was the main cowriter in PATD left after the second album with another member (forget which instrument) and they formed a new duo and focused on Beatles influenced psychedelic pop. It was also a case of the vocals being just as good as Brandon's, but they didn't have the pop appeal at that time.

This also makes me think of the first band Eric Collins did after Denison Marrs ended, the Dark Romantics. He's been more successful with his solo stuff under the name MrENC and I really think you'll dig his voice, for reasons that will be obvious once you hear him croon.

Dark Romantics

MrENC

Sadly it looks like newer Denison Marrs (the S/T album being my favorite) is only on Apple Music. Zero presence on youtube. I don't know about spotify.

Thanks! Sounds pretty cool on hearing one or two, but he's got a big catalog! Any favorite songs?

To be honest, I'm most partial to Denison Marrs and it was only in recent years that I found out about the MrENC material. In a period of time when I am definitely not immersing myself in the body of work like I did when I had more time to get familiar. And of course as I said before, it really bums me out that their material is not readily available, but my favorite songs of theirs are:

Rescue Mission (War era U2 on steroids?)
Send Me An Angel (A pretty faith cover through that same filter as above)
Those are from their 3rd album which is solid throughout but possibly a little typical of Christian Indie Alternative in that Post-SDRE Emo era.

But, and I mean this with no hyperbole. Their Entire 4th album, their final release, rocks my world top to bottom https://www.allmusic.com/album/denison-marrs-mw0000673416
