Cons: Its in a dangerous town. Its 2 hours away. Its the most dangerous night of the year for drivers. Its supposed to rain. I've never driven to Dallas. Pros: I already bought my ticket. It's Eisley!! I can't decide whether I should go or not! Any ideas? _________________ Jamie (the female version) |

Jamie. If I'm there (and there's an increasingly strong chance I'll get to go) and you're not, I'll be very sad. GO!!! _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

grab a buddy and go. Or, meet with Jamie or something, as two sojourners are better than one. If I were you, then you'd be me, and I'd use your body to get to the Eisley concert. _________________ signed: Omygosh, Emperor of Shmo **the turtle stamp of approval** www.soulstrum.com |

We're going to have a good 30-something-plus forumers there. You'll have a good crowd to look out for you. It's cool. And you can hang with me, that's fine. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

You might have two bodyguards. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

granpaturtle wrote: dangerous part of town? wtf mate? fill me in texas peeps deep ellum gets sort of like the wild west on weekends, it's not dangerous per se just filled with a lot of club goers. deep ellum proper is maybe a 1/4 mile long from downtown dallas to the western edge of fair park more or less. it consists of 3 streets, elm, main and commerce and maybe 6 or 7 cross streets. Tree's, where eisley is playing, is on Elm pretty much in the middle of it all. Overall there's maybe a dozen major (in the local sense) venues and dance clubs, maybe 30 bars/resturants, and other random stuff in the neighborhood. there's never much of a police presence there but expect quite a bit on new years like to the point of multiple helicopters heh. if you're driving, park in the lots beneath the highways (you'll know what i mean when you get there) they're well lit and there's enough activity in them that your car won't get broke into. If you can't park there then just bite the bullet and pay for parking. do NOT park on the fringes of deep ellum or side streets where it's free. As for drunks, yeah they'll be there in spades. the best bet for dealing with that is just knowing where you're going, get a good map, that way you can concentrate on driving defensively and not worrying about getting lost. as for walking around, 99.9% of the people down there are having a blast and just enjoying the night so don't be scared of anyone. If you're female use the buddy system and you'll be fine. lol you can dress/act as crazy as you want cause no matter what someone will be there crazier then you. i live a few blocks in downtown about a 10 min walk from tree's. If you get lost or whatever just call me (pm me for my number) me and a bunch of other boardies are going to the show together and we're planning a party afterwards taht everyone's invited to. _________________ "Religions have started on lesser revelations" - investor on MarketWatch.com |

I suppose that I am quite late, but you really should go... I think that quite a few people will be at the Pilotdrift show in Good Records, including myself. That means that there will be a good group of people to stick with to brave Deep Ellum. My mum is quite concerned, but I have reassured her that Eisley fans are good people - she doesn't take too well to my being at "a bar" (i.e. Trees)... You should go for it... _________________ Kyle |

Last year I paid $10 to park in a well lit lot between two buildings. It seemed pretty safe it was very close to the venue. I'd never been to Deep Ellum during New Year's Eve... and it was only my second time there ever. Didn't seem so bad. There were tons of people on the road when the show let out... but I made it safe and sound. Chad's plan sounds good. Most likely a bunch of people will be around him (since he's an irresistible stud), so you'll have a bunch of people to be with. Make it a plan to meet up with folks well before the show. That's what I hope to do. I'm gonna knock on Chad's door at 6 a.m. that morning! OK, maybe not. _________________ "If you're a ninja, every day is like friday." -Jamie M. |
