 Post subject: What should we do to give a hand to 'thedarkdonut'?Posted: Sat Jun 26, 2004 6:58 pm 
So, Richard (thedarkdonut) posted Friday that he is in Qatar and could use some support from us. This is part of his email to me; "Jeffrey if you do plan sending me anything. The usual snacks, letters, a magazine or book every now and then really passes the time. The last time I was deployed I didn't really receive any letters. I only received like two packages, but I was only in Kuwait for like 45 days. There I was doing my actual job and helping out with everyone's mail. I got to see many care packages make it through and letters that people loved receiving. You'd be surprised how grateful the Marines are about getting their mail. If it wasn't for people back home sending letters and packages a lot of soldiers would surely get depressed out here." I realize that I am acquiring a reputation as the forum instigator as far as causes to help members of our Eisley family but, this place means a lot to me and I think it's important that we support each other when we can. So, my question is, what is the best way to let him know we care? I'll let the poll go for a few days and also get some more specifics about what he wants. So it seems that most people prefer to send their own thing to Richard and he'll probably enjoy getting a bunch of things at different times.
