One of you posted in one of my journal threads (Live from LA) not to let Jerry Finn push the freaking "woosh" button on Eisley's record. He and thousands of seriously disgruntled Morrissey fans hated the"woosh" sound on one of the songs on the new, long awaited (7 years) solo record song. We asked Jerry today about it. He said, "It wasn't my idea, I hated it and didn't want it on the record, but Morrissey insisted". Fans blame Jerry while Morrissey won't take the bullet...claiming, "producing is a lonely job". There you have it: the scoop, right here on Eisley's forum. Spread the word. Jerry Finn should be vindicated. He hated the "woosh". However, Jerry adds, in the end, this record looks like it will out sell any of the various Smith's records. There will be no "whoosh" on Eisley's record. Jerry claims "it's cheesy". Besides, any "woosh" sounds would have come from Rob Schnapf...and Rob is incapable of producing cheese. bd _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Oh, Woosh Shmoosh... I'm sure it'll sound fine. p.s. This post was written with one purpose in mind... to type out Woosh Shmoosh. Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh Woosh Shmoosh p.p.s. I was really kind of worried when I heard that Jerry Finn was mixing the album, I've not really liked anything that he's done before now. But then I realized that it was the bands that he had mixed that I had disliked so much, after thinking about it and listening to a few records I have that he's done (namely Morrissey, Sparta, and That Dog) I realized that the mixes were fantastic, just very very good. So I'm now more excited than ever now realizing that this album was essentially recorded by Rob Schnapf and Jerry Finn. That's a recipe for something excellent. (I hope that didn't sound in any way like a knock against Jerry, I hope that it is a compliment) |

Where can I hear this sound? What sound could be so godawful that it ruins an album? Is it like the '80s drum sound? _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |
