anybody else watch the I Wasn't Prepared teaser and just sort of stare at the screen saying "what's this video about?" Eisley videos never have anything to do with the song, except that everyone made fun of Sherri in the tele eyes video. I don't know, it just seemed so absolutely bizzare looking to me, probably because it's all out of context... For me a great Eisley video would be what someone imagines when they listen to Eisley, there's such vivid imagery in so many songs they're bound to make a great video. anyway, anyone else just scratching their head on this one? _________________ welcome to the no pants club boone |

The video is not even out yet and you peeps are complaining already? This is not to mention the fact that most music videos, especially the pop-punk/alternative-rock thing, seem to barely hold any resemblance to whatever the lyrics are. From the way most people seem to describe the lyrics in Eisley's songs (hey, even the way it is described by some of the members, check previous posts, articles, reviews, old site, etc.), it may just fit the song perfectly. But lets just wait till the video is released shall we? Before you freak out about how random it is. * Of course, with granpaturtle being the original thread poster, maybe he knows some inside information about the video or the opinions of Boyd and Eisley that has not been released to the public yet. |

You have a point, granpaturtle. I'm sure that adjustments were made to the script so that the video would fit "I Wasn't Prepared" better, but the fact that the video was originally going to be for "Brightly Wound" (up until the last minute) indicates that it can't be very song-specific in a general way. That said, I'm still very excited to see it--just a couple of thoughts... |

i wanna see an eisley vid with bats with butterfly wings, moons being cut in half, kings of the sea, a village with snowflakes, scarecrows walking, dragons, people with sun feet, dreary birds in a dreary sky, insects confused, frogs quite amused, toys with squeaky joints, war horses with rubber bands, etc. their songs are filled with imagery. the teaser vid was good. after all it's just a teaser. but yea, i was thinking "what is this video about?" we'll have to wait and see... it looks very '60s-ish. and there was a lot of waiting. haha. weston looked tired of waiting. actually, they all sort of looked tired of waiting. |

it does look rather 60s. possibly a homage to some of the music they like? beatles etc.. i think it will be pretty good whatever, as the song is great. think about the marvelous things video..not very much imagery in there, yet still a good video. i think we should wait this one out, see the final product. |

Like Andrew, I was pretty lost looking at the sets and costumes (and hair) in the clip. It doesn't seem all that well suited to the song, but we won't really know for sure until the whole video is released. I'm looking forward to finding out what goes on. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

I've heard a bit about the video and i certainly don't get it... i guess i'll just have to see it before i make any comments...but i agree with you. ~Madison~ _________________ ~Madison~ "Love will come through it's just waiting on you." -Travis- www.xanga.com/oncherrystreet www.xanga.com/blacklistdiaries www.myspace.com/myrockyseaside http://oncherrystreet.multiply.com http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=511599023 |

When I read the script, I could not figure out why they had chosen BW. I even asked Sherri, "this script is for IWP, right?" When she told me "no", I was shocked. I love the costumes and the treatment that they gave this song. The 60's thing is very fitting for EISLEY. Our lives tend to be very retro in a lot of ways. Thanks for the criticism, ....uh, I mean critique I think the final product will satisfy. |

At the moment, I'm glad Eisley isn't sticking to the obvious. A lot of times, the best videos aren't strict interpretations of the songs. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I'm just interested to see the final product, because IWP is laid back and sweet and the theme looks very twiggy. The thing is, it's Eisley... That's enough for me. _________________ UPDATE: REAL MYSPACE LINK! http://www.myspace.com/2399095 Check out my FLICKR and leave comments!!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/28644084@N00/ |

The teaser does not attempt to reveal anything about the concept. It doesn't even really show the set... I just wanted you guys to get to see something. Marvin didn't want me to tell the complete story but he loved this clip. I didn't like the other videos really. But this one is interesting... it's the first one that takes everyone out of context. There's drama; it's shot in space. Come on... at least it's not shot in Eisley's back yard or den. It's a step in the right direction. At the end of the day... this is yet another lo budget video for a random Eisley song. Maybe it won't get on TV with all the other crap. Maybe it'll just go on our website. Marvin approached WB about doing this... they were cool to let him do something. I think it's going to be the best one yet. That's positive. I don't think the band wants to shoot a video showing humming meadows or a face covered in pollen. This is imagery...just not one dimensional. It's other worldly... just not earthly. ha ha... And the costuming? It's authentic to match the period. 60's. Chauntelle doesn't look like that in the final shot. That was just her getting make-up. Anyway, the band likes sci-fi. Right now, I'm into sigh..fi. jk. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead.
