I've been having a bit of an argument with somebody about Brightly Wound. He thinks it's pronounced Brightly WOOnd, as in you've been wounded in the war. I'm fairly certain that it's Brightly WOWnd, as in winding up a clock. Any other thoughts? _________________ Sarah Brown Independent mark. Brightly is an adverb, therefore Wound must be a verb. Wow-nd is a verb, woo-nd is a noun. Therefore it's wow-nd. _________________ you said you liked it when the thunderstorms came said you'd like it if the thunderstorm just pulled you piece by piece away [F I O N A] |

Sharpish wrote: Wow-nd is a verb, woo-nd is a noun. Wrong. dictionary.com wrote: –noun
1. an injury, usually involving division of tissue or rupture of the integument or mucous membrane, due to external violence or some mechanical agency rather than disease. 2. a similar injury to the tissue of a plant. 3. an injury or hurt to feelings, sensibilities, reputation, etc. –verb (used with object) 4. to inflict a wound upon; injure; hurt. –verb (used without object) 5. to inflict a wound. The correct pronunciation of the title is wownd, but it's not for any grammatical reason. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

neither title makes a whole lot of sense, but brightly woond makes LESS sense. _________________ guitarfreak217 wrote: Everyone, listen to Leigh. She knows what's up. theantrider wrote: My jaw hurts and I have an ulcer. That's what spending time with Kylee gets you |
