Post subject: Have you discovered new music thanks to Eisley (directly)?
Posted: Tue Jul 15, 2008 8:42 am Meaning: have you ever taken up any of the suggestions of various albums and bands that Eisley and Company have suggested and ended up really liking it? I have! There's two bands at the moment that I heard about directly through their journals (not the only place, but the first place), ended up buying the albums, and really liking them: 1. Manchester Orchestra - Like a Virgin Losing a Child 2. Hot Chip - Made in the Dark I liked other stuff too, but these are two that I listen to pretty consistently. You can broaden it up to include anything that you heard about first through this forum, but that would be too many to remember for me, so I narrowed it to being from Eisley themselves. |

I can't even begin. haha. 1) Midlake 2) Pilotdrift 3) Mew 4) Kashmir (I think) 5) The Decemberists I'm sure there are several others, but I think those are the biggest ones. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Midlake, the Envy Corps, Dana from General Sherman used to be pretty active on the board, Brighten, and Luvbeat. _________________ "I cannot discuss your verses; for any attempt at criticism would be foreign to me. I bought Van Occupanther when Stacy wrote about it once a couple years ago. Gave it a listen, but didn't have much interest. Then one time, months later, "Bandits" came up on shuffle, and I was in love. (Guess I wasn't in the right mood for it the first time around.) _________________ My name is actually Sarah. Facebook. I don't know if they ever suggested Brand New, but i started listening to them because of eisley. Bands that they sang with like Fair, Bright Eyes & New Found Glory. Wesley Jensen is the only band that i saw open for them that is really liked. _________________ http://www.facebook.com/thismirage http://www.last.fm/user/thismirage http://twitter.com/thismirage |

most of the ones that have been mentioned - midlake opened at my second eisley show; never had heard of them before. Sherri posted the cover of Long Gone Before Daylight by the Cardigans a long time ago. Went to best buy to buy it but there was something wrong like it wasnt released in this country. Anyways it took quite a while for me to love it.. a long while.. but i love it now. _________________ "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed." prov 16:3 |
