http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx7q_JW-DHo I like the video of the vampire with bouncy boobs better. Sleepy Head, Blackened Crown and Mr. Pine are already recorded nicely. I'm more interested in songs that were never recorded like Lady of the Wood, Queen of Leaves, Silver Bugs etc. Oh my gosh, I remember randomly coming across that video a few years ago... _________________ - Karlee |

dude... dude... I'm, pretty sure that's not how she meant it... Then again, I'm sure you knew that, and... and... you didn't let that stop you. I should not be shocked or mortified by any of this, and yet I am... this place, what would my idle procrastination time be like without out it? _________________ yup, that's my name. when have i ever let anything like tact and appropriate stop me? it's a fault of mine i had never see that video before. so the description of the video + the comment + my day at work = low brow humor _________________ Wil's excellent description of me. wilsmith wrote: You're the Anti-Censorship+Topless Twitpic Parodying+Youth Group Video Directing guy that's a champion for the 1st amendment, Videogames as Art, and unrepentant file sharing... I have no grounds for complaints, because: the internet. I remember somebody posted that video a long time ago, and I want to say X-Play had done a review of whatever that game was and trashed it pretty hard. Meanwhile the verse of Sleepyhead was good but "chorus" key change & melody wasn't up to Eisley standards. I'm sure they could improve on that. It's actually the same thing I found a little off putting about Mr. Pine, the song (and Invasion & Smarter), the melodies & chord progressions work but don't sound musically connected with the verses in a way where the song sounds natural in how it builds. It's tricky to pull off such dramatic shifts & Eisley is great at it now, but early on, some of those left turns left me out of sorts. They might not be apt to retool some of those arrangements, but I'm cool with revisionist history in the case of demos & works in progress. _________________ yup, that's my name. Mr. Pine Lady of the Wood Blackened Crown In no particular order. Add "Sleepy Head" and "Lullaby" to this list. It's all I ever wanted in the world. _________________ Taylor | @thbrogan http://inconnumag.com |

Lullaby has always been one of my favorite Eisley songs. I love the second verse with the march-ish drum beat. I can't believe that I forgot about it. I'm ashamed. And yes, Sleepy Head, as well. So good. _________________ cynlovescandy wrote: kulvir wrote: I bet R. Kelly approves of peeing in the shower. The world is R. Kelly's shower. It's a golden world. I would love a little fan-centric EP with songs like Lady of the Wood that never got a chance. And really, how does Mr. Pine not have a "proper" recording? That's a live staple. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

My favorites of that era were always Sleepy Head, Over the Mountains, and Becoming You. You know, the moody/groovy ones. But I suddenly just got really nostalgic for the sparklier old Eisley fair like They All Surrounded Us, Escaping Song, and Mr. Pine. Those demos were so youthful, hopeful, and Rhodes-y!!! I can't even remember which of these got "proper" recordings, because I know I've always preferred the demos. The ones they recorded right after Room Noises were :\ _________________ |

Which isn't true for every good demo they've done, but at least it was for those. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

My favorite demo songs were always Head Against the Sky, Over the Mountains, and Blackened Crown. I'd like to see new versions of those. Granted, HATS (what a silly acronym) and OTM both got studio versions at some point, but it'd be cool to see what they do with them all these years later. Of course, I'm not too familiar with a lot of the old songs that were only played live. I've listened to several of them, and I'm almost positive I have a version of Lady of the Wood on my iPod somewhere, but most of the recordings I've heard are difficult to listen to because of volume issues and sound kind of muffled. I may need to take some time to sort through some of the stuff on SYP again. Maybe since Eisley is supporting Say Anything on their rarities tour, they'll bust out some rarities of their own? _________________ Do I even need a signature anymore? |
