Anybody know how she got to be named Chauntelle? Any significance? My cousins in Maryland are all named after legendary writers.

If I ever have a daughter I want to name her Chauntelle. But Nick would know who I was naming her after and be angry. He hates my obsessiveness. O-o

I've wondered that, too. I'd imagine that it has to do with the French influence in the family, since the name Chauntelle is French. I'm pretty sure one of "the folks" are from Louisiana or close by. The Acadians originally came from France, travelled from New England to Louisiana, and settled down, eventually becoming Cajuns.

I guess some people will never get it. You just need to show him who's boss.

It's good for 2 reasons

1) it's a very pretty sounding name

2) not very many people have the name

Yep. I don't think I've ever heard a more Creole-sounding name than Chauntelle DuPree.

And then you should give them the middle name "Lynn", too. Twisted Evil

I remember her mom saying that Chauntelle means something like "beautiful singing" in French or something like that.
