"watch your hands grow"

and "hold the hands of sinners, and then we will pass"

well i think of it as they're about to kiss in the rain.... his hands are getting closer to her face......... that's why they appear to be growing.

everyone's a sinner so... it's just stating a fact Very Happy

yeah, parts of that song (and all of their songs, for that matter) dont make "sense" to me. the theory about the kissing thing is good, but no one will ever know without getting into Stacy's head... Question

i don't think it all has to mean one thing. multiple ideas can and areportrayed in one song lots of times. also, i don't think there always has to be a great meaning behind a song. i think the illustration of watching the hands grow from the rain could literally be just that. just making up situations and stories in their heads.

i do that all the time.

i was just saying lyrics don't always have to be real or specific to situations. they could just be something that popped into their head or a.. "what if this happened" type of thing. wouldn't it be beautiful if the rain tumbled down from the cracks in the sky and made our hands grow? so, just making up stories and little bits of things and then putting them together to make a song.

i guess... i don't always think there is a great hidden meaning to songs that people are always searching for. i'm not saying there is not to this song. i don't know. but i am just saying this is a possibility to consider.

i think it's is something like...there are liars out there and people that decive you, but you ignore them or deal with it, and you are a better person for it.

I think of it as like...a person growing. Just Like We Do, we all are born, we all grow, we all deal with crap, we all love, we all hold the hands of sinners and then we all will pass. I think of it as a song about life, the reality, pain, and beauty of life.

I love it.

I like that answer. It's kind of like that poetry you have to examine in school. I often doubt those writers intended for that much meaning to exist in their words.
