decent review, but i don't really agree with how depressing the reviewer thinks the ep is. i find it more uplifting if anything, and just plain beautiful. if i'm feeling down, listening to it makes me feel better. it can't be that depressing - unless i'm like on opposite happiness polarization.

I agree with both of you. I love his review.... and, I think the songs aren't so depressing. But, isn't that the beauty of song... he was going through this tragic death in the family - so, "I wasn't prepared" became something very personal; we all adapt music based on our own experience. cool.

i read it again....and, i really like it. Not because he highlit an emotional element that doesn't echo with everyone; but because he genuinely loves the music. That rocks my world. Because I agree... the music pulls me in. I love to be pulled in. Can't wait for the full length, ya'll.

I so need to post my mini review from my campus paper, but I made a few slipups (I think) and it's really embarrassing. Kind of like how bands will make a mistake and really not want the song to be heard ... but a few thouand people here read it, so I might as well ... later, when I'm not at work though.

it doesn't matter. hopefully this crowd, and band and culture is not about perfection. no way. we just make it up as we go... perfection annoys me. it's dishonest. i never gravitate to the perfect people....unless they act imperfect.

Post it!

Gulp ... how can I argue with that. Shocked

Here's the link: http://www.endecision.com/blogpics/P6-10-6.pdf

WARNING: This links directly to the PDF.

That said, I wish this page had a person on it ... no one here really cares. I do kind of like the drawing thing I did, though.

Oh, the review is on the top of the right hand rail. Right above the Rufus Wainwright one. My description muscle was strained at that point, but I hope my quickie review gets some people listening. And of course ... I forgot to mention eisley.com. Doh!

But I won't continue to whine about this here, sorry.

I think it's great. You totally hit on everything... and you really didn't
have that many words to tell the story with...that always makes it tough.
Also, thanks so much for increasing the awareness of the band. Now
maybe there are a few SFA curiosity seekers.

Thanks ... and you're welcome. My staff already knows how much I love Eisley ... I think I'll have some of them won over ... at least. And when Marvelous Things comes out, I'm reviewing that, too ...

It's not at SFA, but I was pleasantly surprised when I was talking to a friend of mine who works on UT's paper about going to the Austin show. I said I was going to see Eisley and he was like "they're good." It made my evening.

My brother goes to SFA and when he came down this weekend he said "Jodi, isn't this the band you like?" and I replied why " yes, it is." Then I read it and I thought it was rather good.

Cool, thanks. Speaking of SFA ... I need to be there in 15 minutes ...
