Queen of Leaves is far too amazing a song, to be left as a live rarity... If you think that Eisley should re-record it in the studio for this year's Xmas single, say "I" I just think that the lyrics & vibe of this song, is what makes Eisley so unique and awesome!! |

There are so many other songs ... but I would love it if people knew this song better live. It's hard to capture Chauntelle's part of that song, and it always hit me so hard live. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

It's great you love that song that much but for me it's one of their least memorable unrecorded tunes, and that's a very short list. _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |

Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to make a nice clear home studio/garage band recording of Queen of Leaves since it's not a full band song.* But they obviously don't have any time or desire to because it's so old I guess. The live recording has a unique eeriness to it though, much like the live solo version of Lady of the Wood (which would also be a nice garage band recording). *edit* Nobody corrected me on Queen of Leaves not being a full band song yet? I have heard it without the full band though. _________________ we're really not alone, we have each other |

It's definitely a full band song, though I think pretty much all of their songs begin on just an organ or guitar. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Queen of leaves is great... wish they'd do something with it. I can't help but wonder if they wouldn't have gone further it they'd recorded/pushed their best work. Maybe they're holding out on Warner and saving some of they good stuff for when they are actually out from under the corporate thumb? Who knows. Someone is gonna shoot me for this, but QOL reminds me just a bit of Box of Rain. |

It's a pretty song, but I feel like Eisley has moved on with their music. I like it how it is, anyways. _________________ You can't find love; you have to create it. Flickr |

the thing I totally love about the live Queen of Leaves recording, is that the microphone captures it in pretty lo-fi quality, and so there's such an ethereal blend of instruments and sounds, which are sometimes hard to distinguish, but it does create this amazingly eerie atmosphere no, i totally get that the band are moving into new creative areas, and maybe not have the desire to backstep into the old archives, its just after discovering the lyrics for this song, and reading along with the mp3, it was just for me, mindblowingly good.. and don't even get me started on lullaby |
