I stumbled across this today. I'm not a fan of dub step at all, so I'm not too crazy about this but I thought I'd share it with you guys. For me it kinda just ruins my favorite song off The Valley. http://soundcloud.com/ryanmccrimmon/sunbeam-redub _________________ |

Dubstep abandons 4/4 time and has more of an industrial influence, a tendency to embrace near slow motion sounding moments like those chopped & screwed remixes. _________________ yup, that's my name. you know besides the name? very little similarity; bit 'o classic techno straight ahead 4/4, no house "swing", hard, fast, a bit dark, relatively minimalistic, some short breakdowns, but no breakbeats (and absolutely no ethereal trance candy). not exactly intended for (passive) listening; rarely heard outside clubs/warehouses. strictly for dancing, really. energetically. Dubstep is all breakbeats- loosely speaking mostly sounds like slowed down D'nB. There are plenty of trance, house, and dubstep remixes or adaptations of pop songs, and pop appropriations of those that make for accessible commercial crossovers (albeit in watered-down form vs. the original genres), real techno itself never really crossed over in the same way, for fairly obvious reasons. |

Yeah. Dubstep makes me think of Metalheadz stuff rom the late 90s and Plastikman chopped n' screwed Since were linking heres dueling remixes of popular songs Chopped and screwed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4zYs0wfoLg Dubstep http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXO-jKksQkM Didn't we already discuss this stuff in a thread? About the actual song: they probably could have done a better job deconstructing the song if the remixer had access to the raw tracks for the vocal and piano to use. They were limited to the beginning and end where those parts were isolated, which really limits the possibilities. The bridge vocals would have been really useful. _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons.
