pretty sure that after a gig(way back) the people who owned the place they were playing had a rhodes they didn't care about, i think they paid a little for it..

that's where they found the tape that's in the beginning of the original version of over the mountains we go.

(story details i'm not sure about, sorry)

You can get a rhodes for between $400-600 on Ebay, but shipping is killer! I think a Wurli 200a runs about the same. If you could find either of them locally that would be best. Personally I like the Wurlitzers a little better (i own a rhodes)... Hopefully this helps a little.

i got my rhodes on ebay for 450 but luckily the guy lived 15 minutes away so i didnt have to pay the fortune for shipping, shipping is definitely killer and the product usually gets damaged in the process. its definitely best to find one locally.

I think Wurlis have a slightly brighter sound (a little more piano like...maybe). If you want to hear a good wurli sound listen to Norah Jones' new album. Amazing! I would assume that most of Stacy's recorded stuff is on a Rhodes, but I'm not sure. It's kinda hard to explain, so I guess the best thing to do is listen for yourself Smile

Stacy plays a Rhodes "electric piano", more correctly called the Fender Rhodes Seventy Three , stage piano model.
She also plays a Korg keyboard.
At home, they have a Wurlitzer organ, which they had sent to CA to record with, they have not toured with it in the past for fear of breaking it.
It is an organ, not an "electric piano".
The post Eisley Forever made above describes the story of how they obtained this organ, not the rhodes.

The Wurlitzer that Brady speaks of that Norah Jones plays, etc., is a Wurlitzer "electric piano", and he is correct that it has a brighter, more crispy sound than a Rhodes does. Back in the 60's and 70's they were competition for each other, and both are heard in a lot of famous albums.
When people talk about a "Wurli", they are usually speaking of the "electric piano" type, and not of the organ.

Stacy does not have this type of Wurlitzer "electric piano", though they may have one in the studio in CA...Boyd has talked about all kinds of keyboards like mellotrons and moogs and also said that Stacy has recorded a bunch on a grand piano.
Hope that helps!
