so we all know that when you drop food on the floor, there's a time limit to how long it sits before you can no longer pick it up and eat it. Where i come from, its called the 5 second rule. But i've also heard the 3 second rule, and the 2 second rule. Which is it? Is this like a locality thing, where some part of the country do it different (i.e. soda or pop or namebrand)
I say it's the 5 second rule, anyone agree?

10 second... sorry, i'm gross. but thats a personal thing. i mostly hear the 5 second rule at school (eewww-where it should be 0sec)
actually, that doesn't apply to everything. if i see it fall into something REALLY gross, I won't pick it up.

It's a 3 second rule ... but I only adhere if the surface is 100 percent clean and the dropped item is a nonsticky thing that can be cleansed ... and thatI'm desperate to eat. But usually .. goes in the trash. Confused

you're so clean, live a little, build up your immune system. When i was a pup i'd drop food everywhere and pick it right back up and eat it, dirt or no dirt. It was good for me, builds a strong immune system, you just gotta deal with pin worms....ewwwwwwww

Under normal circumstances it is 5 seconds. But there are some places this time can be extended, and some places where once food hits the ground...it's gone.

depending on where the food was....

3 1/2 month rule Embarassed

i went to mcdonald's and got two apple pies. i only ate one, and put the other in my purse to eat later that day.

it sat there for two months, and then when i was at Razzoo's with my mom she said, "will you eat a piece o' dee pie?" and i said, "yeah" and i took a little piece of it and ate it. it didn't taste too bad!

i was finally persuaded to take out the pie after 3 1/2 months Crying or Very sad i miss it.

The End.

(otherwise, as noted on will & grace, the three second rule)

I once ate some snackwells out of my desk when I worked at the Kilgore News Herald as the fill-in sports guy. They were at least a year or two old. They were packaged, and I was bored, so I ate them. The caramel had returned to a sugary state, but they were fairly tasty. If I have freak babies, I might regret it some day. Confused

Something terrible happened to me the other day. It's painfull to recap. Well I was with some kids from my church and one boy had Mike 'n Ikes. They are a splendid candy, as I'm sure most of you know. Well he was dropping some on the floor and Hwin and I were picking them up (quickly) to eat. I saw one drop as I was staring at the floor. I snatched it and popped it in only to find it was already wet. Yes, it had dropped from his mouth. GROSS!!!!
