this is my first post here- i've been lurking for awhile, but never got around to registering since it's obviously waaaaaaaaaaaay too much effort to move my mouse all the way over to the "register" button

a bit about myself: i'm 19, i'm a student at the university of maryland, i'm into a lot of indie, experimental and post-rock type stuff, i play guitar, bass, drums (badly), keys (decently), violin (horribly) and, not to toot my own horn or anything, but i can absolutely tear it up on the kazoo

(also, i want to point out that i like eisley because they're excessively, other-worldly, mind-blowingly awesome, as opposed to some of the creepy, "OMG chauntelle/sherri/stacy/boyd is soooooo hott!" borderline internet stalker posts i've seen on here a few times)

and, when the album comes out and the big E goes on tour, they better play at the 930 or black cat or elsewhere in d.c...otherwise i'll cry like an emo kid at a dashboard show

so, it seems i've run out of worthwhile things to say, so i'll go eat some pop tarts. bye bye.

welk umb.

curious...(ok! as I always am...) how you heard about these eisleyans.
Like, were you fishing in a maryland ice hole and your buddy, "Crabbs"
played them on his Sony Walkman cassette player? or, like everyone
else, were you shaving your cat when you heard your mom say, "Ryan.
Marge's boys are listening to this new beatnik music from Eisley, so I ran
right up to The Maryland Feed Store n Record shop and bought you their
new 45 released on Decca."

(the second one, right? i knew it...)

oh man boyd

sometimes you amaze me.

I think you should hand your brain over to the Feds for research - because I dont think you are human...Your thought patterns are far beyond human capacity.

Are you a superhuman perhaps? A new generation of people and soon you will create an army of Duprees and will take over the world with your words.

Oh no! The superhuman gene has been passed down to the Eisley kids...and soon their songs will be released on radio and we will all start to serve you and be your servants and you will take over. Its already happened to us!!

Thats whats going on, isnt it? And now you are going to have to kill me and all that read this post because we will know your secret.

Its out Boyd - we know the truth. What shall you do now?

Wow - I think its way too late and ive become delirious...please excuse me.

haha...actually, i heard of them when i saw them opening for brand new at the 930 club awhile back. unfortunately, i didn't anticipate the show selling out and had to scalp a ticket (we also tried bribing brand new's roadies to sneak us in,but to no avail, and one of my friends had the bright idea of stealing the license plates off the van parked out front (texas plates, so i guess it was yours) and holding them for ransom to get in, but fortuntely we found someone selling tickets first). we ended up not getting in until the very end of eisley's last song (tree tops). the two minutes i saw were pretty good though, so a few weeks later i picked up the laughing city ep at a record store and it just went from there.

also, as for a 45 released on decca...it would be awesome if the new full-length came out on vinyl...or if you did something like a limited edition 12" with the laughing city ep on one side and marvelous things ep on the other. vinyl's so much cooler than cds.

alright , another maryland student. i'm trying to get WMUC to play Eisley, and i convinced Dim the Lights (thursday morning at 12 am) but they don't have the EP's! which is insane because their record library is huge. but no worries, i'm shipping off a copy of each to them soon enough, and then all of College Park will know Eisley...well...not really...but we could start a student organiztaion...

i actually tried to get a show at wmuc last fall, but the only time slot was 3 to 5 a.m. on tuesday mornings or something ridiculous like that. i was too busy in the spring, but i might try again this fall

also, i remember seeing someone on the mall a few months ago with an eisley shirt on, but i was already late for class and couldn't stop to say anything...was that you?
