might i object! AHH MARVELOUS THINGS ! YOU BIG CRAZIES! That has to the best song ever! it may be on the EP but for people who have never heard Eisley before, they would totally miss out. Like Boyd said Ep's disappear. Marvelous Things would pretty much suck some more fans in. Plus it already has an amazing video. I chose i wasn't prepared because it's probably not as uplifting as the other songs.

TROLLY, BRIGHTLY, LOVELY, FLOATING= OPTIMISTIC

of course, i've only heard i slowly floated away in clips. and loved it right on the spot. dying to hear the others though.

I just said Memories becaue I have it on Marvelous Things EP...I was going to pick Marvelous Things bc it's got it's very own EP named after it but I figured most people would think like that. And it does have a video...so I don't know.
I really love Sunfeet. I don't wanna let it go! Or Vintage People. I really liked that one at the show.

SERIOUSLY!! WELL ACTUALLY MEMORIES IS THE SONG WITH THE LEAST VOTES FROM THE ONES ALREADY ON PREVIOUS EP'S, SO IT'S ACTUALLY A WINNER IN THAT SENSE. HIN HINT EISLEY DON'T LEAVE THIS ONE OUT!!

But, I agree with Ideal. Don't pull the lever on a ep-released song. You're
sentencing the world to never hear them. eps's go away.

Of course, you don't know:

Trolly Wood
Brightly Wound
My Lovely
One Day I Slowly Floated Away

These are also great songs in the line up.

OK did anyone else notice how boyd forgot to mention the 5th song not on the poll: THE ESCAPING SONG?

oh man that song is so cooked! well i guess now we know there's only 3 from the others being cut. Rolling Eyes

Vintage People is the only song on the poll that hasn't received a "cut" cote! Yeah! Go Vintage People!

I feel like we should have a racetrack announcer on here:

"And it's "I Wasn't Prepared" by a nose, followed closely by "Marvelous Things..." Wait! Memories is pulling up, but it's not enough to catch to the EP heavyweights! "Golly Sandra" was supposed to start slow and end last, but a wayward vote has pushed her up into the rest of the pack..."

I'll be taking bets later tonight.

This is precisely the flaw with this poll, no offense to the person who made it. A lot of people are going to vote for the songs they already have cause they just want more eisley songs. Not everyone is doing that, but some are. I cant blame them for this. The thing that everyone has to take into consideration is that this is the first official full length release from the band and therefore is going to be the first thing most people hear from eisley. The band and label has the right to put on the cd whatever they want. However, to make the biggest splash, their best stuff should be on this cd. More adventurous fans can go back and dig up the older eps and find the older songs, but they wont if they dont like what they hear the first time they hear the band. However, as boyd has said before, bands arent really officially on the map until they come out with an LP. So if they have to re-record and put out a couple of songs that we here have heard over and over so that the fans who are going to discover the band later can hear them for the first time and appreciate their brilliance, then i say more power to em. I'm sure im gonna get bashed for this post, but thats ok. Bash away

i made the poll, and i already made note that this would happen, and tried to discourage people from voting for the already released tracks if their reason what that they already had studio versions of those songs. but there's still people doing it that are even fessing up to doing it. oh well, i'm sure if the band were looking at this thread they would take this into consideration, just like they would realise how vintage people will get fewer votes because it hasn't really been heard by everyone.

if i could go back i would have removed those 3 songs that already have studio versions, but this is already the second poll that's been made on the subject, so a third would be overkill.. of course if someone else wants to do it be my guest, i'll vote Rolling Eyes

overall, i think the only clear piece of information that has been conveyed by those who've voted so far is that 'they all surrounded me' is the least favorite song of 'the people'. i actually quite like the song, but the more i think about it i imagine it probably is one of the most appropriate to be cut, if it's mandatory that 3-4 songs MUST be cut from the lineup of 15.

as far as the songs from the previous EP's, i am pretty sure that marvy things and i wasn't prepared are going to make the LP, and i really hope that memories makes it as it is possibly my favorite eisley song. and i think this is ok, although my vote on this poll still went for marvelous things as i think it is the most incongruous with the other songs i've heard that might be on the album. however, it IS the song that got me into eisley, so i've come around to think that perhaps my vote would be different if i could go back in time. i think my vote would have to be they all surrounded me, even though i really like it!! argh, it just hurts to see some of these babies not make it out the womb. thank goodness i haven't heard some of the other songs.

Anyone who voted for "Marvelous Things" has not heard Rob Schnapf's "Hooooleeee crap he made it sound better" version.
