Hey,
Boyd didn't want this out until we had all the info up and ready for you, but local friends and fans can mark their calender for an EISLEY show in Tyler, TX at the place where they started.....BREWTONES COFFEE GALAXY.

That's all I'll say for now, but just wanted those of you that may want to come to Tyler for this show, to be able to plan on Friday night, July 18th.

More details will appear soon, here, and brewtones.com

pssst....don't tell Boyd that I told you Wink

Ha, after years of Eisley making the great adventure to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, Dallas is finally going to make the great adventure all the way home to Tyler, kind of ironic.... just a bit.

I'm not stupid!!....I check the forum; you're all conspiring against me! I need a shrink and an asprin. (headache) I was lawn mower man today....worked like a fool, weed eating, pulling weeds, mowing....I tore it up....I was mecho-man...dirt, earth, blood, poison ivy, the sun...I was MAN-THOR of the LAWN!!!

Anyway, the Brewtones sight is back up after being extinct, dormat, dead, offline for a while. sheesh. (I'm having a reflective moment; it used to be my passion...writing blurbs, connecting people...it was our lives...all of us; everyone in Eisley and their younger sib's...and most of all - Kim, who booked bands and cooked and decorated and managed the joint) BrewTones... eisley's alma mater; what good times we had...working our butts off...hosting and playing loud rock music; it was a thriving scene here in Tyler 98-2000; now, a relic of a an era once bristling bristling with activity, thousands of conversations (digital and otherwise), people in and out of our house, BBQ'd briskets cooked every weekend for bands, iced down cokes in a real coke cooler, Costa Rican coffee...meeting Ester Drang when they spend the night with us and told us they would quit after hearing the girls do a few songs in our den, Waterdeep, Bleach, - 100's of indie bands, local bands...all gone; a culture buried under layers of busy-ness.

Anyway, why not rev up the engine and summon the old gang. Sounds like some new peeps might come. Right, from DFW.

Interesting comment,"Birds Eye View". Here in Tyler, Eisley is just that girl band that used to be the TowHeads that did local shows along with all the other indie bands back in the day. Many of them are like..."dude, I don't see what's the big deal...we were just as good....they just got lucky; it's cuz they're girls...and their looks....dude, it ain't fair..."

I love it. We're so under the radar. And why shouldn't "they" be? They grew up here. But warning signs point to rev'd up media attention; likely to be reporters and media peeps there. If not....well that will be even cooler.

I was reading in the last Filter about Grandaddy doing a show in their own town... a great article; interview'd locals...tractors were driving down the road, kids were showing up with beards and bubba caps in honor of their home team band. It was awesome. And only about 500 kids showed up. That's so cool. Indie shows rule. We saw Grandaddy at SXSW - about 1,500-2,000 of us. They're totally rock stars in my book, but in their home town, they're sorta a mystery. Dang I love their new record.

"This....is my xanga..(...ahhhh)"

much love.

boyd.

I was traveling to Brewtones from Dallas years ago to catch Eisley play on their home turf, it was the only place I could go to take my little girl to see them, and I am so pumped to get to take her again. She's 3 now, and LOVES the band, she stands on the mantle with a plastic microphone and sings along to the music. She'll be so excited. And ok, I admit it, I'm even more excited than she will be!
