I just got off the phone with my brother-in-law who lives in Austin. He said that there is a 3 page spread about Eisley in their local paper, I think he said it was called "Austin Chronicle". Anyway, he said it's basically like their version of the Dallas Observer. I thought that was pretty cool!!! Well, he said that if ya'll wanted a copy, he'd pick one up for you and I can bring it to you at the show next weekend. Just let me know. I guess you possibly get a complimentary copy since you're in it??? I don't know, but if not, the offer is there!!!! Man, it must be crazy to see your face looking back from a magazine! The same old silly face you've seen since you were a kid... Jamie |

Well, if they're free, could ya'll (you all...you guys, but we're Texans) grab a handful before they're gone? - and bring them to the show? We usually keep stuff just for scrap book and muse. If they cost something, we'll pay for it...(Twinstar) I've seen the link and read the article on line... and was at the interview. She really did a good job. She confessed to us after the interview that she was really unsure of what she was getting in to. She thought...."oh, brother...sibling band...Hanson...a waco, right-winged, militant, religious fanatical, homeschooled band..." Who could blame her - the way many of the publications are covering Eisley. ("they're homeschooled, they love their parents and they worship the Lord..!!" imagine it's narrated by this dorky suit standing on a pew to give a testimony) But hey, it came from Boz Scaggs boy; it's the freaking Rolling Stone...they can say whatever they want. Anyway, back to the Austin Chronicle - I loved her honesty. She was a good listener. After an hour of interrogation, she was wanting to hear live clips from the tour, listening to the CD and totally on the same page. I think Melanie was caught off guard and a bit smitten.... (as am I). Ok, I'll tell him to grab as many as he can, and bring 'em on over to lovely ole Tyler next weekend! I'm pretty sure they're free. Wow, that article is so great! I think that's the best one I've ever read. And I will carry it around in my pocket as proof for anyone who doesn't understand why I homeschool my kids!!!!!! Jamie |

i think everyone who reads the article will gain a new appreciation for the band, especially given the usual press coverage--i could go on, but, honestly you've all seen it. it is intelligently written, doesn't pander to preconceptions, and has its insight. three cheers. what i'm thinking now is that an austin show is in order. a proper show at the mercury, la zona rosa, or perhaps stubbs. mercury and stubbs share the same ticketing agency as trees. (hope?) and boyd, i can send some copies of the chronicle your way and bring some up to the show. word |
