i think a player like on brand new's site would be cool. their's even works well on my dialup. maybe put in a few good recodings of live stuff. or like the integrated one on the flaming lips site and i think the section with messages from each band member and their art section would be good to carry over. _________________ "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed." prov 16:3 |

I agree with most, Flash is cool, but overrated. If your making an Eisley cartoon (which is not necessarily a bad idea), by all means use flash. But for band stuff, it just is kinda inconveniencing. I love it when bands post the lyrics on their site. Also very easy navigation is... well great. Updated pictures of live shows (or at least links to them on the forum). Updated band biography. (that would be interesting). All this would make the website as happy a place as the forum. Kalen _________________ Okay!!!!.....I mean Sooo Good!!! Xanga's Worst Enemy MySpace |

I have cable at home and T3 at work. Flash loads up fast for me, but eventually all the splash screens and sound effects and little movies and other junk get annoying. Like on the current Eisley site, there's a flash movie in the center of the window with some text that fades in and out that you have to wait through before you can even enter the navigation. It's cool the first time.... The latest Coldplay site is flash, but not so annoying. Something like that would be fine. |

I think in general people just want as much content as you are willing to share. You have a large amount of video (the clips you've already posted and I'm sure you have tons sitting around) and I know that we'd all like that in one location that is easy to access, you have tons of images and even if you just took everything you already posted on this forum and put it in one easily navigated section then I think you'd make people happy, the vision, biography, and eclectic could all be put into one central "band" section... maybe with links to their drawings, writings, or whatever else they each want up in their section. I like the idea of the integrated audio player, but an audio section would be welcome too (we love live mp3s and rare tracks). I'd like to see the flash-oriented design disappear, but a navigation bar in flash isn't too bad really. I think that a central navigation system is a nice feature. I know that I said some of that already, but I don't think that I said it clearly enough (I had just woke up). |

ooo... i'm probably late but oh well.... FLASH like others mentioned a purely flash site... not always a good idea. don't get me wrong... I use flash myself, but there's a time and a place for it. A good example is Bush's web site (the band, not the guy). They used it for the nav and some elements on the site, but essentially kept it simple to give people quick access to the content. LYRICS a lyrical section featuring lyrics from old and new songs is always nice.... instead of hunting them down on the web or interpretting.... but if you had the original sheets per say that they used when writing the songs to see scratched out stuff, that's always interesting. PHOTOS a gallery section... featuring some nice hi-res photos from the tours, press, etc. VIDEO If you wanted to push it further, try putting some nice high res videos... like from the Marvelous Things music video... the thing is the current Eisley site is nice and it has tons of stuff in it so I think in terms of content there's a lot that could be brought over. More than anything... standards. Please, make it standards compliant. _________________ ![]()

whatever you do, PLEASE do not have one of those pretentious biographies that annoy me so much. (you don't seem like the type at all to do that , but then again, i thought that about a lot of bands, and then i go to their websites and their biographies talk about them like they're God's great gift to rock music. i'm sure Eisley can avoid that sort of arrogance, though.) but personal biographies are always fun and nice and help people get to know more about the band. that's the sort of thing i like. lyrics are always good. pictures are always good. and i like videos. i couldn't watch most of the studio videos for some reason, so it'd be cool if they were in a different format that would be more accessible? but i have no idea what i'm talking about so don't hold me to any of this. _________________ Saellys wrote: Thank God for Arielle all your kind, they're coming clean they shut their eyes their mess, their scene |

Flash? HTML? Pop ups? i have not a clue what y'all on about but whatever they said. i just want a web site that looks new with no dust or faded colours from the bleetings of the sun. Boyd, just do what these inter-nerds suggests. whatever would be good would be good. as long as it doesnt blow up my computer or leave everlasting images of disturbance in my frazzled brain i shall be pleased with the outcome. a change of colour would be a start, not that i dislike the green type olive colourings of this beloved interweb page. and not pink. maybe when the page loads you could have weston in a jump suit running across the screen, or something. oh and we should keep a picture of the Moss Eisley mobile somewhere on it. yes. bye _________________ "A mathematician is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat which isn't there." - Charles Darwin (legend) |

flash is VERY good if you know how to use it. flash fonts are a start. big text is blunderous but with small, if you click device fonts, it makes it easy to read. you end up with stuff like the muse site. and with the size thing, as long as you program it with seperate .swf files, loading them when time is needed, it runs faster than HTML. integration of flash and HTML is the best way. i KNOW we can trust boyd with a flash site. besides, it leaves more room to be artistic. (eisley=artistic = fact) i think the old one just had so much stuff added after-the-fact, it was time for a re-amping. but it's past 2... not like this post matters anymore. i was in the mood for an intellectual argument |

I meant what i said about the flash, Boyd does it very well in my opinion, its not annoying nor life threatening.....Maybe a flash site for us who love animations out of the wazoo....and an html version for the dial-uppers, or better yet a text version...j/k...i do stll dial-up at times...i want some interactivity, i want mind warping animation information.....and i want a cool little counter at the bottom of the screen, that also acts as a slot machine......and an animated gif of a roadwork sign that says "coming soon"....i would also like my mouse pointer to turn into chauntelles guitar....that is all..... _________________
