That took me by surprise. I knew about Blender, but I wasn't expecting to see 'em in CMJ. _________________ https://soundcloud.com/kiteswithoutstrings/tracks |

Well, I didn't find any after digging around a bit, but Kingspin off this forum sent me a care package with nice stuff like a CMJ, a bag of Doritos, some Mac magazines and I'm not sure what else. Thanks Thomas. (they're from Salt Lake and flew down for the BrewTones show) I thought the article was great - especially since the first two words are BOYD DUPREE. no, for real...I was like, what the heck? whatever....but, it was a Sherri interview. I don't know what she said, but...whatever. Anyway, the story is good. I'm sure they'll be on the shelf soon if they aren't already. I saw them in Virgin records...but they were last months. btw. I think it's called "New Music" - not CMJ (which is in the upper left hand corner) the end. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. CMJ stands for College Music Journal. They essentially put out two different publications. One is the New Music Report, which is more of an industry-information magazine with charts, etc. It's kind of the Bible for college radio type stuff. The second is New Music Monthly - which I'm assuming Eisley is in. It's your general interest music magazine with reviews, articles, and a free sampler CD if I'm not mistaken. Excellent to see Eisley in there, though I haven't actually seen it seen it, oh well... Also, CMJ puts on a killer conference, ala South by Southwest, called Music Marathon. It's in October in NYC, I believe. Palmer |

You probably won't be able to find Eisley on the CMJ.com site except in the message boards where they have been mentioned several times as both Eisley and MossEisley. However, they are in the new issue of the magazine. I can't remember who is on the front. For those who don't know, CMJ is College Music Journal. It's not as big as Rolling Stone or Spin. It's not as indie oriented as Magnet or The Big Takeover, but with few exceptions, it tends to cover less "popular" music and focuses more on artists that are marketable to college radio, or something along those lines. It is a pretty widely circulated zine. _________________ https://soundcloud.com/kiteswithoutstrings/tracks |
