Learning to Breathe was Switchfoot's best album. I was listening to Legend of Chin the other day, and was amazed at the insight that Jon had even that far back. I like the way the boy thinks. As for a show with Eisley... I don't think that would be a very good fit. I'd rather see Eisley play with Pilot Drift and Midlake... Perhaps on 12-31-04? _________________ May I introduce myself? personally i like New Way to Be Human better. there's seems to be more depth to his lyrics from that period. you can tell he was reading/studying a lot of books (some of the songs are based on Christian writers). i love the arrangements too. i wish he would break the trumpet back out for the next album. who is this Straylight Run i keep reading about? _________________ I am Torgo. I think that nothing upsets me more than to hear fans of one band leaving a show (or showing up late as the case may be) so they just see the band they want to see perform. The least people can do is give respect to the other bands playing and give their music a chance. I was at a local show here in Boston once, and the opening band (Waltham) taped the show for a music video. All their fans showed up. However, all of the Waltham fans left when the headliner went on. It was a drag to see the house go from a solid 700 bodies down to less than 200 (yes, the change was that drastic). So for all of you who were bragging about going to shows just to see Eisley...give the other music a chance. Its almost rude to leave early or show up late. And more on-topic, I think Eisley and SP made a good tour match. Sp has a lot of fans that enjoy different, newer sounds in music, and that's why many SP fans can relate to and enjoy Eisley. I think Eisley (or any break through band for that matter) would suffer from touring with Switchfoot. I have seen Switchfoot (last Oct., before they got huge) and like thier music. However, they have the "Christian" stigma surrounding them, so fans who attend their shows seem to attend them more for the Christian angle than a music angle. Ex: The show I saw them play had two openers, neither of which were Christian bands. Both openers (Bleu and Sleeping At Last) were awesome! But, the crowd could have cared less...they actually chanted "Switchfoot" during Bleu's set! Disrespect to the max. Anyway, those are my thoughts on that. Good Eisley tour partners (IMO): John Mayer Jason Mraz Matchbox Twenty Maroon 5 * All of the above to reach more mainstream fans N.E.R.D. (no joke) Jewel and/or Michelle Branch * lock that hipster chik segment in the back pocket The Killers (similar reasons as SP tour) Will Hoge (this would be a sweet co-headliner, esp. popular in the south...Boyd, get in touch with Will...willhoge@hotmail.com...you won't regret it!) I think the most important thing with Eisley's tours is to reach an audience with an open mind toward music, since they do have an original sound to them. To do that they need to stick to tours with bands that are gaining some recognition (The Killers, Gavin Degraw, etc) but haven't made it big. Thus, their fans will be more open to the new music! I guess that's a long enough rant. |

Thanks for putting the feelings into words. I at least give the openers/headliners a chance. I though Snow Patrol had a nice set. Not my favorite, but good. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Eisley and Muse would be wiser and cooler to do. _________________ "What's with these homies dissing my girl?" - Weezer "I think I know I mean a yes but it's all wrong, that is I think I disagree." - Beatles My Livejournal |

I would be majorly disappointed if Eisley toured with Maroon 5. _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

Actually, the music complements well with each other. There are different angles to look at than who sounds like who. Snow Patrol and Eisley don't sound anything a like, but they are a good pairing. Its a matter of a target market and what fans are being sought. And PLEASE don't tell me you all dislike Maroon 5 and MB 20 because they are popular. That is the lamest thing any true music fan could ever say! "Yeah, I used to like them before they got popular." Pathetic. |

I'd like to see Eisley open for Incubus. (If Brandon Boyd can leave his knife at home.) _________________ Power is only pain It’s probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in.
