...and i am in opposition to eisley going on tour with New Found Glory. Totally.

Not like an aggressive stance, the kind where you beat the oncoming mob with the opposite end of the 2x4 your protesting sign is posted on.

The nice kind.

I just feel it would be beneficial for eisley, or us, to TRY to fight it. (if we fail, ehh life goes on). Eisley's gonna have many more tours in the future, some headlining... but this is their album debut tour. IMPORTANT. From a marketing stance concerning headliners and openers, you don't pay attention to the music each offers (E/NFG- completely different anyway), its the similarity between fans that matter. And this is where my opinion comes in. I believe no fan of New Found Glory shares any similarity (regarding music) with a fan of Eisley. I believe the work that eisley and boyd will put into this tour (of which they always do SO much) will mostly be in vein. And I believe such a label as WB can definitely do better than this.

There, I'm done. Now your turn.

i think generally WB has a bunch of stupid marketing decisions they want to impose on the band... i will never quite get over the fact that telescope eyes is taking the spot of some other great eisley song that would have made the record, or this whole e-merge or whatever thing... granted there have been some battles between label and artist that have been a great detriment to the artists (e.g. tool), but generally i think eisley doesn't have to take as much $#@! as they do... and worse yet it is partially on account of their age.... Mad

I'm a fan of NFG but a bigger fan of eisley. Really, if Eisley goes on tour with NFG, I wouldn't like it only if the band members didn't like it. If Eisley wants to tour with NFG, then who are we to rain on their parade. On the otherhand, if they are against it as well, then let's do all we can to help Eisley out.
Therefore, my stance is neutral until further notice. The notice being Eisley's stance.

Your opinion, which is of no consequence at all. (probably, unfortunately, true)

I agree. It just don't make no sense.

Let's stick some unknowns out on a tour that costs a lot of money, assuring they won't make any. That's a good way to work toward being dropped.

Honestly, are we scared NFG is going to "infect" Eisley? Are we that elitist? Will it destroy Eisley if for a couple of months they play with NFG? They're people, too.

Ok, everyone who has closely listened to an NFG album, raise your hand.

*riases hand*

I'm not dead-set against a tour with NFG, but the thing is I really really hate the idea of Eisley opening for a band that opens for NFG. Eisley's too good to be the first of three bands. Headlining small clubs or being the ONLY opener for a bigger band, please. I don't even like the idea of them being sandwiched between 2 bands, because I know I don't like sitting through 2 bands to get to the one I want... I never understood tours with more than two bands (besides festivals).

Anyone agree to that degree?

You hit on the one thing that bothers me about it. If Eisley can get the same kind of set they had with Snow Patrol, that's grand. But If they repeat the 5-6 songs in 25-ish minutes they had with Brand New, I'm not sure it's worth it. Of course, those 6-ish songs a night on the Brand New and HRC tour did great things, too.

I feel that any tour is a good tour. Id rather not see another club tour though. Its time to go into the mainstream market. And a headlining club tour is not going to do that.
