I'm thinking that it will make more sense when we hear the whole CD.
I prefer the older Telescope Eyes, but I'm really liking Lost at Sea and Golly Sandra, though. (Yes, they're different...but it's not like the older versions of the songs will magically dissapear from my iTunes. Now I have more versions. Which means more Eisley. Which means more happiness.)

well, what i hear so far is rather good. however, the quality of streaming audio sucks in general, so i'll hold my judgment until i hear the songs on the cd itself (which, depending on how soon i can get warner to send a promo copy to wmuc, hopefully won't be too long)

Streaming audio is the work of the devil. Just like Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

Thank you for your kind words and warm welcome. Very Happy I also noticed that you are a fan of Nellie McKay. I saw her a few weeks ago and she was very entertaining, to say the least. Smile

You're welcome. And yes, I am. I hope I get to see her sometime this year. Now I'm jealous. Confused

(Just kidding. Sort of. heh)

neat! i'm going to have to get used to the new "lost at sea". not nearly as erie and moody as the original.

I love all the other new versions, Golly Sandra, Telescope Eyes, but I would have to agree with Giant on Lost At Sea. Not that it's not good, I just think it lost the erie and moodiness that the original in Sherri's room recording had. Not saying that I don't like it, it's just different, probably will reach a larger audience.

How do you figure? By what Boyd has been saying, these are official full-length-album versions of the songs. I doubt the band will change them at all between now and February.

Obviously there will be changes made to live versions; that's the fun part. But as far as the album goes, it sounds like those preview songs are the finished, fully produced, ready-to-release versions.

But don't forget that the "big" Lost at Sea is the remix. The album mix sounds perfect.

I was disappointed about the lyric change: "pallid to thoughtful..."

Not sure what made Sherri change it, it was awesome the way it was. O-o

But it still sounds great.
