Man, he makes the blog thing, and the video taping the band thing, look so easy.
He tells us all, step by step all the daily details of what's going on, and makes it sound interesting.
I have failed you all.....sorry.

So, we arrived in LA LA land on Wednesday. Got picked up by a driver that delivered us to our hotel, The Grafton on Sunset, and we all settled in to our rooms.
My room was a single room, but Chauntelle and I shared it, (at first), and gave Stacy and Sherri a room, and of course Jon and Weston their own room.

That night, wardrobe people showed up around 7 p.m. and they went through all the clothes that they had brought, and the band had and picked out 5 different outfits each for the video shoot.

A picture was taken of each outfit on the band member, and then, each outfit was bagged and tagged so it would be ready for each scene.
Each outfit had to be approved by Buckey...the producer.
I can't remember all of the videos that he has worked on, so hopefully Boyd can fill in some blanks.

We have been on foot so far, so we have been eating at Mel's Diner most of the time since it is within walking distance from the hotel.
We have done lots of walking. All the way down to Virgin mega store, and the record store that is in the other direction??? I would ask Stacy, but she's still asleep.
At each store, I bought copies of Laughing City, since when the eps are gone off of the shelf, they are GONE!

Sleeping has been a challenge. It turns out that my room is right under the bar, so here is how I described trying to sleep in that room to Sherri:
It would be like if someone had taken a mobile home and decided to make a hotel room out of it, and then put another mobile home on top of it and made the neighborhood dance bar out of it! or....it would be like I was trying to sleep at home, with Weston's bedroom above mine, (which it is), and Weston, (who has the most powerful stereo system in the house), decided to blare his music full blast, and then, he and Jonathan decided to wrestle, move furniture, and have a dance party in high heel shoes on a tile floor above my head.

I think you have the picture Rolling Eyes

Thursday we had the day off, so we went and ate at Mel's that morning, and walked up and down Sunset until we were tired. We grabbed a Starbucks, and went back to the hotel to try and rest.
Later that evening, we were sick of Mel's, so we had the bright idea to walk from Sunset, down to Hollywood, and (you almost roll down the hill it is so steep), and then we walked about another mile down Hollywood until we found this cool, affordable Italian restuarant to eat dinner.
Then, we started our trek back! All was great until we got to the hill.
We all looked up and thought...."we have to go up that?!"

We all made it up, and I had a special bit of rejoicing because I was realizing how cool it was that I could not only do all of this walking, but I even made it up that huge hill without being too winded. Then I was thankful again for being alive and not dying of heart problems, and so thankful that they had figured out what was wrong last year when I had the heart surgery.
It was a joyful and thankful moment to just be alive!

My legs feel pretty sore today, but I am so happy that I am able to do all of this walking without chest pains, and happy to spend this time with some of my kid's in LA, and get to have a small window into the process of their video shoot.

Friday was shooting day. We were supposed to be in the lobby at 6:15 a.m. I tried to sleep in my room that night, because I didn't want to crowd Sherri, and knew they needed good sleep to be rested for the all day shoot.

Well, no sleep for me until around 5 a.m. when the noise above me finally stopped. So, when my phone rang at 6:10 to tell me that the driver was here, and it wasn't Sherri giving me my wakeup call at 5:30 a.m.....I panicked! Crud! I screwed up!
Sherri had accidentally set her alarm for 5:30 p.m.

OK....off to the races...everyone scrambling to get dressed and meet the driver.

She takes us to this cool two story house somewhere in Hollywood, and all is being set up. Tables of breakfast, tents, chairs, monitor screens, wires everywhere, lights, make up stations, etc....(I remind you I am not Boyd) Wink

Producers, directors, assistants to assistants, an on site school teacher for Stacy, (since she is a working minor) all that stuff. Everyone grabs some grub, and then it's makeup and hair, and first outfit. They begin shooting the first scene. This pretty much repeats itself all day, until the end of the day when it's done. I do have some video, but it will have to be looked at by the master to see if it's even worth using.
One thing that was hilarious, (and I do have video), was when Weston and Jonathan let Craig Aaronson listen to a special number they had recorded in garageband the night before the shoot.
I'm not quite sure how to describe this to you...delicately.
It seems that since Weston and Jonathan had slept all day, (while me and the girls walked up and down Sunset), they were wide awake the night before their first major video shoot for their band, and were bored.

Dare I go on?.....

OK....it seems that the two hooligans thought it might be cool to try and record their....uh....hmmn.... Confused ....WAIT! Stop right here....what am I thinking?
A mom shouldn't be reporting on this kind of stuff!
What were they thinking? Recording their flatulations Embarassed

OMG! I got it out....(no pun intended!) Those crazy guys recorded their f_ _ts on garage band and put it on their iPods, and now their A&R executive is listening to it! Do guys ever really grow up?
He wants Weston and Jon to let his 4 year old son, (Race), hear it when he gets there later in the day....oh, wait....He's getting nauseated! OMG! I have it all on video! That's if it turned out....I was laughing so hard I could hardly hold the camera still.

After that, the day went pretty smooth. (Again, no pun intended)!
Ah....wash my brain! They wrapped the shoot around 11:30 p.m.
Back to the hotel, and crash! Sherri tried to sleep in my room last night so I could get some sleep. She's still not down here and it's 12:00 a.m.
I wonder if she slept? We get a car today, so we'll be crusing around for fun.
That's all for now folks. Sorry I can't be as good as Boyd on all of this play by play stuff, but, I needed a bit of a change, and he's working his boody off trying to meet deadlines.

More as it becomes newsworty...live from LA!

wow, sounds like things are pretty busy over there.

weston and jon.. they're crazy. that sounds like something my guy friends would do. (we're about the same age as weston, so i can assure you he's pretty normal.. don't know about jon though Wink )

and stacy has a teacher on set?? that sounds so movie-star-ish.

well, anyway, i hope you guys are having fun.. and that sucks about your hotel room.. i've had the room above the bar before, and that was no fun either. Sad
