Brace yourselves.

It all started last Sunday, when I was the highest (naturally) that I have been in years thanks to my finding someone who was happy to give me a ride from Austin to the show in Dallas last Friday. I was so excited I had much trouble going to sleep or concentrating on school the next day. We decided to use pm's to communicate, but I also sent him my cell number in case of trouble or for use when pm's were inappropriate or impossible. The next day the forum went down. I have never experienced such a long forum drought, and I held onto my hopes of contacting him until the end. My hopes were dashed expertly. Turns out he didn't write down my cell number before the forum went down. I probably would've done the same thing.
At this point I realized I probably could've made it to the show on my own, but I calculated the cost of gas for my truck would've been about $80. Plus food and a t-shirt, probably $100. Even though I had already purchased my ticket and some valentine's chocolates for the band, I decided that it would be too irresponsible since I do not have much money and am still in college. I decided to go see another good band here in Austin. About 40 minutes after I arrived at this show my truck got towed. Apparently I was parked in the only space in the entire lot that is reserved 24 hours a day, even though the store it is reserved for shuts down completely at 8pm. The next day I had to pay $132.88 to get my truck out of their lot.

So I went from paying about $60 to help with gas, food and a t-shirt, to paying $100 to drive myself and still see a great show, to paying $132.88 just to get my truck back.

What a long, slow, downward spiral this week has been. Weep with me.

man, i'm sorry, that sucks.
but, at least you still have the chocolate, and when Eisley are famous you can sell the ticket on eBay for hundreds of dollars, thus making back the money you spent.
genius.

Yeah, did I mention that the arrangement I made was to have it at the door? So, no ticket in hand actually. Besides, I was planning on writing Boyd and asking if I can send it to the band in Tyler. Although, chocolate would make me feel better.

I feel better already.

ODE TO EISLEY
You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me happy, when my truck gets towed. Oh how I love you, my only sunshine. I guess I'll have to wait until you get to San Antone.

Buddy, I still had a chance, but didn't take it because I couldn't see the future. I just did some quick research on mapquest. Eisley is playing in Minneapolis, Minnesota during the New Found Glory tour. Minneapolis is only 234 miles from Ankeny, Iowa. That is only 31 miles more than the distance from my house in Austin to the Gypsy Tearoom in Dallas. I could've made, and didn't. You can still make it.

That's awful luck. I pray nothing bad happens when I go see them.
