Don't hate me guys.. BUT -- I must know if one of the girls did the slide guitar riffs at the begining of "Golly Sandra."

I don't think that it is impossible. Just unlikely. Simply because I've never seen them do anything that inclined live.

Anybody know for a fact?

Casey Prestwood from Hot Rod Circuit played the steel part on the record.

What I meant was did they write it. Because I've read they wrote everything on the record. And that slide guitar is one of the biggest hooks in that song.

i am pretty sure Casey from Hot Rod Circuit wrote the slide part too...to my knowledge, none of the band members can play a slide guitar.
in my opinion :::gasp::: the slide guitar ruins the song. it covers over the beautiful and dreamy tremolo guitar part chauntelle plays, and forces her guitar into the background. it also makes into a "country-ish" sound, and slows the beat of the song down. I was fortunate to hear Eisely perform Golly Sandra many times BEFORE there was a slide guitar in it, and it was a much less polished rock song, and in my opinion, much better.
Now, shame on me for saying something negative about Eisley, after all, i am their #1 fan Smile

I like the slide guitar...it adds a certain amount of "fun" to the song. It's different from the other Room Noises songs, I like that.

can someone tell me what in the world is a slide guitar?
my silly guess would be when rockstars slide their tab down a string really fast, or something. no?

NO a slide guitar=a pedal steel, or lap steel (used a lot in country music)...it's a guitar that is made in a laying down fashion....Most are tuned in an open tuning...and you use either a glass/metallic "slider" to slide along the strings...it's not complex...

You were at the Houston Eisley/Elected/The Colour show, right? The Elected had heavy usage of one, so you've seen one in action.

Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of it either, and I completely agree with your view on it. But, there is no denying that it is easily the biggest hook of that song.
