A very nice review in Harp, May 2005. As follows: "The backstory on Eisley is straight outta central casting's wettest dreamsL three angelic singing sisters, a brother and best friend on the back line, all aged 18 to 22, all shiny, happy and good-looking and brought up in East texas, where they woodshedded at a coffeehouse run by their parents - it could be a movie coming soon to a theater near you. Their debut album on Reprise - following two EP's featuring some songs that are retracked on Room Noises - should be coming soon to a radio station near you, as well as far and wide. That is, if enough muscial quality and charm to make you swoon still count for something. The hooks in Eisley's backstory are far exceeded by those in their music, making Room Noises dozen glistening earworms (plus one remix) welcome residents in your consciousness. In the rock-crit mix'n'match game, Eisley might be tagged as ABBA meets Radiohead or a Crowded House of young girls and boys of Elton Joans & Johns - yep, they're that damned good. But to say so also dstracts from Eisley's own considerable charms. Room Noises is one yummy yet also nutritious pop-rock cake - think honey rather than sugar - topped with multicolored birthday sprinkles. Within the delectable layers below are deep and rich bursts of flavor, from the Beatles to baroque to something delectable that just happens to be Eisley themselves. Even if such alluring and durable numbers as "Brightly Wound", "Lost at Sea", and the aptly titled "One Day I Slowly Floated Away" and "Marvelous Things" aren't huge hits in these pop-music times plagued by cartoonish Simpsons sisters and such who "sing", these preternaturally sophisticated young ones have still made a smart and accomplished album for all ages as well as the ages." - Rob Patterson _________________ Audioscrobbler Now
