Laughing City

Im going to attempt to make this as unbiased as possible...

I looped it on the way to school today, on the way to my friends house, on the way to lunch, at my friends house for my friend, and will be looping it on my way home after school tonight.

As a whole, i think i prefer Laughing City. The song selection for Laughing City was a bit better i honestly think, a little more diverse (Tree Tops followed by Over The Mountains, a nice broad view of what the band has to offer). That being said, it would have been hard for anything to beat it, its been my favorite disc ever since i purchased it in June. Marvelous Things is insanely good, Laughing City is just a tid bit better (im talking the physical width of a termite better).

Marvelous Things is so well produced its sickening. Better produced than Rush Of Blood to the head, which might seem impossible, but it is. Cheers for your selections of these fellas, they did all the right things for you it seems. They gave justice to the true beauty of the music.

It was also nice to see Chauntelle and Jon breaking through in the songs. Chauntelle's leads are so thick and obvious in the best ways possible, it almost adds a third voice. Who needs to step up to a mic when you can produce such powerful sounds with your fingers and a set of strings. Jon and Weston click in together beautifully on this album, an aspect that seemed a little weak on previous recordings.

Memories - What a lovely song. The flow of this song is so beautiful. Can't wait to hear it live.

Sea King - My least favorite track on the CD, which is hard to put into perspective considering how amazing i still think it is. Once again, the physical width of a termite behind the other tracks.

Winter Song - As much as im loving this track, i could have waited till the Christmas comp came out to hear it. Eisley studio tracks are slim pickings as it is, so personally, i would have enjoyed hearing another song its its spot (They All Surrounded Me would have been my pick). But as far as the song itself, WOW. The vocals on this track send shivers down my spine. I will be playing this song next summer, the imagary is so deep and vivid.

Marverlous Things - Best song ever recorded in the history of man? I'll vote for it. Every time i listen to it im in awe as to how perfect every little aspect of it is. I could write a full page of thoughts on how perfect it is. From the words, to the produuction, to the voices of the instuments, to the songwriting, its 100% down the line.

So yeah, i love this EP. Its looking like it will take the number 2 spot in my favorite albums collection. Its solid right on down the line, a truly professional recording. If Laughing City and Marvelous Things are any indication as to how the full leignth will play out, my head might explode before its released;).

my only gripe thus far is, if they are going to include a winter song from a Christmas album, they could have released it before Christmas. nevermind. and yeah i know it probably has pretty much nowt to do with the band.

I downloaded it 1st thing this morning. It brought tears to my eyes just like the 1st time I heard Eisley, and just like the 1st time I heard Laughing City. I just think there is something about hearing it for the 1st time knowing you can hear it whenever you want and not have to wait for a concert. Sherry & Stacy have probably the most beautiful voices that I have ever heard. I am going to make a compilation CD of the 1st ep Laughing City and Marvelous Things to have a make-shift full length. God Bless Eisley!

for real! all 4 of the songs sound incredible.

I had to stop everything i was doing when listening to Memories I think that is my favorite.
"dreary birds parade accross the dreary sky and look down below.." that part is just unreal. For those who still don't have the album you won't be dissapointed.

congrats to everyone who worked on Marvelous Things.

Eisley...you are amazing. I love your music so very much. Marvelous Things has completely made my day. I cannot describe how much these songs do touch me. WOW. That's all I can utter after hearing this EP. WOW. Not many musical acts today make me go WOW. Eisley makes me WOW.
Very Happy
My favorite song is The Winter Song. The vox are so incredibly beautiful. Marvelous Things....what a gorgeous piece of music. Memories is so hauntingly beautiful. Sea King is so imaginitive. I love it all. I love it, love it.
Thank you. I only wish it were longer!
God bless.

Ditto--it's way too short. But if good things come in small packages, than Marvelous Things is a gift well worth treasuring.

I loved "The Winter Song." Probably my favorite off the EP so far... "Marvelous Things" is a close second, followed by "Memories," and last, but not least, "Sea King." Once again, those Eisley-types have exceeded my expectations by about a million miles. Beautiful, beautiful work... The lyrics, the melodies, the solos...

I absolutely, positively cannot wait until the full-length is released. Unfortunately, more time for Eisley to record means less chances of me seeing them live in the near future. But I can wait. U2 will be touring soon. Wink
