I like SFA. A good friend of mine went to A&M for a semester. It wasn't her thing, though, I don't think. To each his/her own, definitely. I went to high school with recent A&M football star Ja'Mar Toombs ... OK, I don't know much about the palce. Rolling Eyes

Oh yeah, I own a camera used by a Rice Thresher (that the name?) editor from the mid-'80s, or something like that.

Uhm, Eisley rocks.

But would you give SFA 7 thumbs up?

All right... I'll stop with the thumbs up business. (By the way, can anyone tell me the hilarious show and episode where "7 thumbs up" is mentioned? I'll give you a hint: the character that said it was talking about his wife's pork chops and said it was his lowest rating ever.) I'm in a weird mood because I have lots of work to get done by tomorrow (which is why I keep coming and posting here). I keep needing to take breaks. The irony of me posting on this thread is I'm writing a research paper on censorship.

And yeah, The Thresher is Rice's newspaper. -sigh- I miss my old college days (not to be confused with my current college days).

In other news... Eisley rocks.

I only have two thumbs, but I'd point them up for SFA. You have to work harder for entertainment here, but I kind of like that. If people here would have a better attitude about where they were, this place would be awesome.

OK, I'll answer my own question since I don't have time to keep coming here to see if anybody was right.

"7 thumbs up" is from The Simpsons... the episode where Homer is a food critic who used to give everything fantastic reviews.

Here's how it goes (something like this):

Marge: Who wants pork chops?
(Homer tastes the food.)
Homer: Sorry Marge, I'm afraid this gets my lowest rating ever. 7 thumbs up.
Marge: You always liked my pork chops.
Homer: Marge, I'm sorry but your cooking has only got two moves: shake and bake.
Marge: But you LOVE shake and bake. You used to put it in your coffee.

Ahh... those wacky Simpsons.

I remember that one ... I should punish myself for not recognizing it. I think I've seen — literally — every episode of the Simpsons since the pilot aired oh so many years ago.

Well, imagine that. Small world after all and stuff. I don't believe I know him yet, though that shouldn't be too suprising.

there is a web site dedicated to Syd somewhere. i remember reading it. he is a recluse, and too many floyd fans try to contact him, which is wrong. he was and still is suffering from mental problems. even gilmour et al dont really know exactly what has happened, apart from the situation that got him into this. yeah he got invreaingly worse at gigs, and i think in the end, from what i have read, he basically just stood there on stage. shame. anyway legendary music from a legendary band, and lets face it Barret era floyd would not be the same without lsd and i dont think anybody can disagree with that. still end of the drug debate, it gets boring.

without acid car batteries wouldn't exist guys! neither would lemons! acid is an integral part of reality.

uhm in other news the only sixties music i ever really listen to is the beatles. and they aren't really sixties music. i mean, they are, but not entirely. they transcend decade or genre or anything.

but in other news i need to do sociology homework. bye.

You know ... they have acid, but they still don't have a really popular base.
