my opinion is that you cannot just expect fans of NEW FOUND GLORY (who are a completely different "genre" of music than eisley) to be open to eisley's music. they may be projecting their feelings towards the band in a negative way, but you cannot sit here and complain about it, people are naturally like that, and lots of us may have done the exact same thing toward other bands. so this is somewhat hypocritical of us to sit here and complain about it--it is their opinions and they are entitled to their opinions, we cannot condone someone if their isn't the same as ours. that is just morally wrong.

This thread is absolutely rediculous.

I'm a fan of New Found Glory and Reggie and the Full Effect, and honestly, I walked away from the show a huge Eisley fan. These people saying $#@! about NFG and their fans, you're doing exactly what you're against.

That guy (TakingOutGlory) was pretty far out of line. No one has trashed NFG in this thread. As far as the fans go, I don't see anything wrong with expressing a distaste for the fans of Reggie and NFG (or anyone for that matter) who are too immature to respect nice people like the DuPrees and Mr. Wilson.

Wow, if that's not the most offensive thing I've read on here in a while, I don't know what is. And, that's saying a lot.

Don't you even start to pretend to know who NFG fans are. You all claim that you want fans of NFG to like Eisley, but when their fans say horrible things like this, why would that bring us onto these boards or into this beautiful music? I was resistant to the idea of these bands touring together, but I have always loved Eisley's music. I'm also a fan of NFG, as I have stated time and time again, and I don't think I can be boxed in one category because I'm more than one dimension. And, oh, by the way, NFG fans are human and deserve respect too. I've read how people want Eisley to be accepted, and how they are being rejected by these fans. Surely, there are fans who are just plain rude. I have been bothered by this for the whole tour, but I've never resorted to name-calling. If you can't be mature, than what is the point?

I just hope that you can be respectful of others. Categorizing all of us, someone you don't even know, is pretty damn disrespectful, and really offensive. Why don't you grow up. You're not happy that some NFG fans are being rude and disrespectful, but it's comments like that one that piss me off.

And, to the person who asked what would any NFG fan know about good music because we listen to NFG...if you would open your ears and your mind and maybe take a listen to something else, you might find you like it. If you don't like it, fine, you don't have to. But, please, don't crap all over someone else. You obviously don't like it when it's being done to you.

I definitely understand why you would ask that after seeing those comments. Earlier in the thread I did mention that there were a few thoughtless comments by some Eisley fans. I guess if they will be unapologetic for them, then I must apologize for them. One of them in particular seems intent on littering our lovely city with curse words. My point was that they are not representative of most Eisley fans, and I felt you were drawing a generalization based on a couple of rude persons' comments. I guess I can also see why you might consider one of those comments indirectly derogatory towards NFG. We have known for a long time that as Eisley's fanbase continues to grow we will get people here who don't feel like respect for others is a necessary thing. However, you should know that wasn't the thread's intent. Perhaps, I wished you were more out of line than you were realistically.

can I pretty much sum up what we've all learned from this thread?

1) ALL nfg fans are not rude teens (or tweens) that feel the need to listen to "punk rock" to rebel against their school teachers and bash anything that is not "punk rock". But there are the bad apples in the bunch...

2) ALL eisley fans are not pompus and hypocritical. But there once again are the bad apples in the bunch...

I'm rotten to my core. Full of worms and maggots.

But I wouldn't have it any other way.
