everyone seems to study radiohead's lyrics...and for good reason, i mean, thom's got some brilliant words...but i'm gonna talk about the music for a minute too. everything gives me a different vibe...almost mood-altering at times. i mean, to listen to something like big ideas, with the organ...before it was re-worked. jesus. it's like...ok, she's cheating on me and my heart is breaking. you can hear it. phil's setting a tempo that's so slow. you can nearly hear blood coursing through vein. johnny...with the organ...it's heart breaking. you can suttly hear colin's bass. i believe he's using that 1960s fuzz pedal...the one he uses in exit music. its barely there. ed's barely there...and thom is just playing guitar. and the tone of thom's voice is just heartbreaking. the second bridge...ed's "ooooh's"

and now that you found it...it's gone. sorry bout the rant.

speaking of the tone of thom's voice...lift. "youve been stuck in a lift. we've been trying to reach you, thom." theres a tear in his voice, and its just...good lord.

then there's the newer kid-a. seeing colin start jumping and clapping his hands, it's like...hah, cool. then to actually hear it...it's brilliant. thom with his bassstation...someone said "what a joke little keyboard" i just laughed.

the song literally makes you want to just dance around all happy like. although i miss the first verse, it's so great.

then there's fake plastic trees. breaking mold for a moment, the live show...seeing it in camden (and later at red rocks) the lights change from red to blue..."she looks like the real thing..." i dunno.

radiohead is an experience, and i just rambled for about ten minutes about something most know nothing about. i sound like such a fanboy. geh.

cheers. i guess.

Ok, let me start off by saying that YES, Radiohead is one of the greatest bands ever. Now when we're talking about Radiohead's music, we need to remember that their music is radically different from the norm. These songs are not manufactured for mass consumption, so they won't appeal to some people. It's also a bit of an aquired taste that may take some time. I just recently got 'into' Radiohead when I picked up Hail to the Thief. I didn't really like it at first but I kept listening, and now I'm completely infactuated.

yes when I first heard the album Kid A I didn't really like it that much....I thought it was just mindless ramblings of music. but now I think it is the most brilliant album ever made....every single song has such a deep meaning behind it....but as somebody here said before, its hard to put your finger on what that deep meaning is. radiohead transforms music into something thats real and personal. I don't know, its hard to explain

Radiohead is great but they're not the best.

sometimes, when you're feeling really terrible, turn off all the lights in your room late night, get ready to go to bed, put ok computer on your headphones loud, and shut your eyes. its incredible. you drift in and out of consciousness, and i tell you, nothing is healing like drifting back in to the opening notes of "no surprises".
is radiohead. is good.

"Chills up the spine" is really the only way I can describe Radiohead's music...

I use music like the characters in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? use mood organs. When I want to wake up, to be infused with some crazy life-is-awesome energy, I listen to U2 (or better yet, watch them live). When I want to be assured that yes, everything really will be okay, I listen to Coldplay. When I want to fall asleep (but not in a bad, boring way), I listen to R.E.M. When I want to be happy and sad at the same time, I listen to Kent. When I want the whole world to turn different colors and light up, I listen to Eisley.

And when I want my feelings, frustrations, desires, and secrets thrown back at me in music form, I listen to Radiohead. Somehow I connect with them on a different, if not deeper, level than any other band. OK Computer is like me, converted to music and recorded on CD. (I have a friend who says the same about Achtung Baby.) I could watch Meeting People Is Easy once a day, every day, and never get tired of it. I get a little teary-eyed every time I hear that bit in "Fake Plastic Trees": But I can't help the feeling I could blow through the ceiling, if I just turned and run... And it wears me out... And it drives me fairly batty that my best friend refuses to recognize their unbelievable talent just because she associates their music with someone who broke her heart over the summer. (I'm working on her. She'll come around.)

In short, U2 may still be the Best Band in the World, but when they're ready to pass the torch, I think they'll give it to Radiohead.[/i]

I wonder how horrible it is to have a radio for a head. I mean, what if you can't get a good station?

Sorry ... Rolling Eyes
