SO....I was thinking, "There isn't a thread about ABBA on here yet? That is so wrong." So, here goes guys. Tell me your opinion of ABBA, Their songwriting, Their music, anything.

Of course, I need not to state my opinion of them because my screenname says it all.

If you have any questions, let me know, I'll be glad to help!

My dad would crank up the Abba when I was younger, so I dig 'em.

he definitely has varied taste in music.. it was abba, blondie, pink floyd, rush, yes, .38 special, bob seager, van halen, the beatles, demis roussos, beethoven, yanni (i still don't get that one), and tons of persian music (probably because he's persian). i remember when he got the abba gold video, and he played it every morning for a couple of weeks. i'd wake up and be like "what the heck?" - but eventually i couldn't help singing along. ABBA owns summer 1999. Them, the Beastie Boys and Violent Femmes. I'm all over the place. ha.

VOULEZ-VOUS IS A GREAT SONG!!!

This is the chorus:
"Voulez-vous (ah-ha)
Take it now or leave it (ah-ha)
Now is all we get (ah-ha)
Nothing promised, no regrets"

"Voulez-vous (ah-ha)
Ain't no big decision (ah-ha)
You know what to do (ah-ha)
La question c'est voulez-vous
Voulez-vous..."

In case you're wondering what the French is, it means "the question, it is please". This was one of their major disco hits and another disco hit was "Does Your Mother Know" sung by Björn.

Anyways. Yeh, "Knowing Me, Knowing You" has got to be one of my top 5 favorite songs of theirs, I guess because it sounds so 70-ish.

'Fernando' has always been my favorite, I think. There's a really cool episode of Malcolm in the Middle where Dewey and Bea Arthur are dancing around the kitchen table to 'Fernando' - it was so sweet, up until Bea Arthur's character died. I still don't know why the writers did that - it wasn't funny, just sad.

Heh, that was cool. Except maybe the dying part.
