hi everyone im about to buy a digital camera and well--my thoughts keep going back and forth and i really plain cant decide. i just want something simple that will have the ability to grow with me creatively and everywhere i go i hear canon's the best for that....or at least the most popular.
but you know how those online reviews go too. you'll hear the GREATEST review on a camera and the WORST one on the same camera which makes it so hard to decide.
my main question is---i think it was the powershot a95 that someone said when taking a picture indoors with the flash, redeye comes out each time....is this true?
and would the powershot a80 be better than the a95? for some reason i was looking at pics it took, and they were way better in my opinion. but i thought a greater number (95) usually meant more advanced?
either way, i cant find the a80 on the best buy website so i dunno where i would buy it.

then sometimes im like--maybe i should just save up for a used canon digital rebel....then i hear this really bad review that once you keep it for a year something goes terribly wrong. and besides that, i dunno if i want something that huge becuz i wont be able to take it with me everywhere. and morally, i dont even know if i could spend that much on just a camera when i can see my money going to many other things.

i might also be looking at nikons. i dunno. anyway...comments or suggestions would be really nice. thank you for reading.

PS--sorry theres something wrong with the poll.

Redeye comes out a lot with most Point&Shoot cameras, and if I'm not mistaken, it's because the flash is pointed directly at the person's face.

Redeye you can fix, and unless you have a really good flash bouncing off the ceiling, you will not avoid it most of the time.

The Canon A95 is a good camera. MOST reviews are good for it.
However, I'd suggest you take a look at the Canon Powershot SD400.

The Canon EOS Rebel XT has not even been out a year yet... and the reviews for the older model is usually all good. As for the condition of the camera, it depends on how well you maintain it. Always get extended warranty just in case.

But remember... it's not the digital camera that makes a good photo. It's the photographer and how well he uses the tools he has.

I know what you mean... Sometimes you want to capture exactly what you're experiencing, but because the camera sometimes is way off (flash, brightness, contrast, focus, etc. etc.), you don't get that same feeling.

I suggest you take a look @ http://www.dpreview.com for reviews and more on digital cameras...

The thing you are looking at right now looks like the SD400:
