Somewhere in here is a thread on Boyd's take on the shirt, which basically said that if somebody's getting money for it, the band and management have to be involved. So it's on hold for now.

couldn't someone get the shirts made and sell them for cost (of getting them made and shipping?) if there are no profits there is nothing for boyd or the label to stress over

I think the last thing everyone decided on was to make an official boardie stencil, which people could download and put on shirts of their chosing.

I think a portion of the proceeds (if any) should go to the band.

Exactly.

And not all of us have the tools or know how to stencil.

well, stenciling is hard for beginners. you have to cut well, especially the small details. so, chasd00's seems like a good idea.

but didn't boyd say he was gonna be creating designs for the shirts? since they're on a major label and all... unless the boardies really want something faster?

I'm not trying to be offensive or arguementitive but why should boyd design the BOARDIE shirts? If the board members want to do this stencil thing then what right does boyd have to control the design? If you wanted a boyd designed shirt you could by an officially liscenced tshirt. in my opinion this tshirt should represent the boardies and be designed by one of their peers

Well, I'm pretty sure Boyd has more posts than just about any of us. He's a boardie, too!

that may be true, but i think that having a shirt designed by a boardie(and not a person related to eisley) is a better idea. i think it shows how dedicated we are to the band and how much of a community we are. i mean, everyone has been working together to get this off the ground and there has been so much positive feedback about designs and such. it really sucks that it got shot down because of copyrights abnd stuff. don't get me wrong, i want the band to make money, but i'd also like this to be more about the community(and how much of a labor of love it is for the fans) than anything else.

Well, Boyd has every right.

No. 1 — He's a boaride.
No. 2 — He's a freaking awesome designer.
No. 3 — He's saved this board more times than you'll ever know.
No. 4 — He is the gatekeeper of Eisley's brand/identity.

That said, if we basically just want to dentify ourselves as proud Laughing Citizens, I don't understand why we just can't keep this simple. Maybe we could make buttons? That way the money we exchange is a much smaller denomination, and we could wear it every day. I guess it's not as fun, but hey ... it's just an idea.

I'm sitting the rest of this out, though. I don't get why this is generating so much emotion. I'm guessing if Eisley was raking in fat cash and had some security, this probably wouldn't be a big deal. But reality is that it does matter right now.
