"Some" of the Switchfoot fans are talking trash about Eisley on this thread: http://forums1.sonymusic.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/716102313/m/420105 9605 |

i couldnt go.. but i kept hearing all about it at diff places. school, starbucks, and whatnot i hope someone took pictures! yeah, interesting.. quoting this girl from switchfoot board: MistaGoodwin Posted 07 November 2005 08:29 PM Everyone who saw the tour and saw Eisley and maybe thought they were ok or not that good. Give a listen to their CD. It is truly an amazing CD. I heard them live and thought they were boring. Mostly because they did not have much stage presence and I did not know their music enough. However I think it was poor placement within the evening. Reeve Oliver just came out full of energy and kicked our butts but then Eisely was stuck in the place of trying to want to be heard when all everyone wanted to hear was Switchfoot. Combined with that and the fact that their music is not very upbeat, i think it didnt come off too well. However! Their CD is really amazing. When I listen to it, it is like slipping into a dream. The way they write their lyrics and the way their music flows together sort of whimsically. Its a very meandering sound. But i would highly reccomend you to listen to their CD and maybe sample it on iTunes if you did not like them live, and especially if you thought they were good. <--- thats exactly what i thought too. (i saw them first with brand new) i think a lot of people feel that way, that they are a little boring, especially if they dont already know eisley and it's their first time hearing them, and, like she stated, another band comes afterwards that totally rocks your face off (on brand new's tour this case was hot rod circuit) HOWEVER you go home thinking "i'll listen to chauntelle and check out eisley.com because despite how everyone sort of got over them after they played, they were NOT forgotten and i can tell there's something really special about this band." and sure enough and i am here today |

Oops. I guess that kinda backfired. Around here 88°F is considered mild. Jaime, you must be getting used to that snow in a hurry. I wasn't crazy about the sound at this particular show. Maybe that was just me. Or maybe I'm just turning into a Boyd! The venue was nice though (sucks about the no cameras though). Funny about the stage presence of Eisley comment. It's all just a matter of opinion. I left Switchfoot's set about 5 songs through. I thought they were boring. Go figure. The new Eisley song is awesome though! Very, very awesome. _________________ "If you're a ninja, every day is like friday." -Jamie M. |

mcrew117 wrote: wow u thought switchfoot was boring??? they jump on top of drums, jump into the crowd and sing words in their guitar... they are one of the most entertaining and interactive bands i've seen Yeah, but to me it's style over substance. I don't know. All the jumping and stuff didn't entertain me much. _________________ "If you're a ninja, every day is like friday." -Jamie M. |
