a girl in my english class was talking to her friend one day and said really loudly "omg, have you ever the postal service's cover of 'such great heights?' it's like wicked techno." yeah, it made me mad. no one but ben gibbard could write those lyrics. postal service, no contest. _________________ http://thegirlinthebearhat.tumblr.com/ |

I have to say I like the postal service one better. i recently used it at the end of a short film i made. it went so well with it The postal service version will always be good for throwing in random tv show segments and short films. That's why it gets my vote. I'm not sure i've even heard the Iron & Wine version. Was it on a tv commercial? It was on a M&Ms commercial _________________ |

Iron and Wine just kind of bores me most of the time. They make for good background music, but there is no dynamic. Damien Rice is a much more interesting figure in the folk genre because he is so dynamic in his songs. _________________ EisleyForever wrote: you're A-list in my heart! MAKECOLDPLAYHISTORY |

i enjoy them both. it is a nice song by itself (the original version i mean). but i think that the postal service version is pretty creative. i mean, i guess i wouldn't think of being able to re-make it in that way. although i like both of them, i went with the postal service. I think you may be confused, dear. (At least it could be interpretted that way.) |

They are both amazing... And you're asking me to choose between the voices of Ben Gibbard and Sam Beam! Not fair! Tamborello's work is great too, of course. Let me listen to both of them again before I make a final decision. Quote: rilo kiley version Rilo Kiley did a version? My love for Sam Beam wins out. Ah, that man is wonderful. I want a beard like that. _________________ FINALLY SAW EISLEY IN CONCERT 11/8/05!!!!! |

And yes, I am on a first-name-basis with everyone. so shut up. _________________ "If those are my last words, I can do better." |

I like them both. I prefer the Postal Service version more, but as an acoustic guitar player I respect what went into the Iron and Whine version. I just recently aquired the Postal Service album and I have to say it is one of the best albums ive heard in a long time. I just took a 32 hour road trip and the two cd's I listened to most were PS and Eisley. |
