 Post subject: When will Marvelous Things video air on MTV?Posted: Wed Dec 17, 2003 8:38 pm 
Good luck on the pre-production trip with Mr. Schnafp or Schnapf or.... yeah. You people are gonna rock!!! While you're out there working be sure to rock it, sing it, belt it, love it, go with it, and know that you'll do awesome. I do. You're SO gonna come up with some amazing stuff. I was wondering when the Marvelous Things video will be airing on MTV. Is it all edited and ready for Eisley lovers to see yet? Have you guys already submitted it or whatever you gotta do to let MTV see it? Its just a matter of time. to make your xanga site a link, click 'url' button insert the url and then click 'url' again. you have to have a picture posted somewhere to upload it. so try that, then you have to use the 'img' button. regarding video, wait until Boyd replies, dont think many people will know much about it. i do know Boyd has said something like this is just like an introductory video and if mtv pick it up then great, if not, oh well. or something. _________________ "A mathematician is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat which isn't there." - Charles Darwin (legend) |

Of course, the video is on line here now, and MTV now has the product, but it's submitted for release in 2005 (jan). No guarantee they'll play it. We'll see. If they do, and we get a show time, prior, we'll release it and push it hard. Boyd, January 2005? or 2004? I know you thought for two years in a row, that you were 47, (and you are only 46), but I was wondering if that was a typo on the release 'cause that would be a year from this coming January? Hurry and get home....how am I gonna make it for 3 months when you all are in LA recording? ugh.....

oh yeah, I skipped a year again. crap. I do that don't I. Sadly, it wasn't a typo. COMING HOME TOMORROW!!!!! YES!!!! WOOPIE-DAWG!!! (woopie dawg? we can't even handle LA for a week; how will we survive 3 months) So, in answer to the question: The video - IF MTV decides to play it, it'll be sometime after the first of the year.. WAIT, I just remembered! WB gave a copy to the Brand New guys who are hosting some end of the year video deal on MTV...they can play whatever video's they want to for 2 hours. They asked us for a beta and it will happen...so, there you go. After getting used to Marvelous Things, I actually think Sea King would make a better single from the ep. But I will admit Marvelous Things is the one that grabbed me first. To be honest, I didn't think there was much promotion behind these eps. I think thats probably already happening without the help of a video on MTV. They will always have their real fans though, and thats all that truly matters. |

BK is right about not pushing the ep's. It's not a part of their record deal. The ep's are like..not real... really. Mangagement had to convice WB they could sell 10,000 of them. WB didn't think it was possible. But the ep's have zero marketing dollars behind them. They did, however, support the band for tours which helped SO much. All the fury and power behind the label will be unleashed on the full length - as it should be. Everyone is super happy with how Eisley is developing. Back to the video. I agree with The Hollow Days to some extent. It's human nature. They'll swoon and be like all in love and stuff. But not all of them. Brand New likes eisley. So will their fan base. We've already seen it happen. In spite of the anti-emo sentiment we all enjoy, Brand New actually has many rock lovers...pop lovers...all kinds of fans. I swear to you on the sons of tundra-nun - the Brand New guys are as diverse in their music appreciation as we are if not way more. Mostly, they hate their power pop stuff and are really on a search to find themselves. They do NOT want to be an emo band. I said it before, but Jesse said he cried at Sigor Ros... and knows every lyric to Nuetral Milk Hotels only underground record (his favorite); they've seen Radiohead multiple times....and Coldplay (which is where they saw Eisley); If I sound like I'm defending those guys, I have good reason to. Their newest record has sold over 150,000...so, they're doing something right. And, since they wanted no other band than Eisley on their last tour, you should, at least respect that. 
Their fans will certainly love Eisley because of the young chicks...etc. but I give high school kids more credit than that. Maybe some of them will get the music too.  As far as predictions, which was what pulled me in on this conversation:
