if you had plans with your bf, but last minute, your bf's best friend called with an oppurtunity for last minute tickets to a football playoff game, would you let them go? you know that football is both boy's passion, and that this is a great oppurtunity.

in other news, i almost had tickets to the new england patriots vs jacksonville jaguars playoff game tonight, but it didn't work out, and i've now caused a tiff between a couple that i'm good friends with.

try to look past the fact that it's football if you have a bias against it.

i went with "yes" but i suppose it depends on the situation.

if it were something we'd been planning for a while, a big thing, i'd probably mind. but i'd just be sorta grumpy and not really be outwardly angry because that's how i am.

if it were just us hanging out like usual, i'd say go for it.

course i'd let him. he'd probably be pissed if i didn't. i mean, i'd be pissed if my boyfriend wouldn't let me go to a really good concert because we had plans.

exactly. i think some girls have issues with sports being "more important" than them... but you gotta think what you're really interested in and put yourself in his place.

Well, it depends. Plans is a real general term. Was it an important date they'd been planning for a while? Was there alot of prior hype and excitement for the evening?

If it's just a laid back, normal we-do-this-every-weekend sort of date, then duhhh. Let him go.

It depends on:

Our plans
Who is playing in the football game

if it was like my birthday or our anniversary i'd be less likely to just say 'ok, go!', but if it was just generic plans, sure, why not? if it's something he loves and enjoys, why not let him go? we could eat dinner/see a movie/hang out any night. if i suddenly was able to go do something i really wanted to do, i'd like it if he let me go.
but i don't have a boyfriend. i don't know if that negates my opinion.

i agree with most girls here, if it was just simple "dinner and a movie" or hanging out plans, then of course he can go. if it were something really big and/or couldn't be rescheduled, i'd mind.

Another factor that would play into this is how often this girl gets to see her boyfriend. If they get to see each other all the time, then she shouldnt have had a problem with it.

If I was a chick...there would be NO WAY in h-e-double hockey sticks that I would go to a football game, however I'd only go unless I had a major 5th grade crush on the dude...but I can't crush on a guy cause I'm not a homosexual
