So, Bayside's this local (to NYC) band. There was some buzz about them after they had a tragic accident recently:

Quote:
On October 31, 2005, at approximately 3:13 AM in Cheyenne, WY, after leaving their Boulder, Colorado show, Bayside's tour van hit a patch of ice, skidded off the road, and flipped over. Drummer John "Beatz" Holohan was killed and Nick Ghanbarian was seriously injured. Anthony and Jack luckily escaped with minor injuries.

But, the happy stuff, if you aren't inclined to hear for yourself. Anthony, the lead singer of Bayside, is apparently an Eisley fan ("his favorite band", even), and he was at a NYC show just after that tour. He describes Eisley as "so atmospheric...incredibly therapeutic".

Eisley - big in the (NYC) streets!

(Oh, and feel free to listen to the rest of the show(s) Wink)

That's horrible about the accident, but awesome that they like Eisley.

That is an incredible story. And it's cool that they are such big Eisley fans, and that going to that show helped them during that time.

I heard about Beatz the day (or day after) it happened.
It was so sad. It's nice they like Eisley and say such nice things.

A few more thoughts:

"Right after" the accident would mean they went the Switchfoot show. It's pretty friggin' remarkable that they don't mention Switchfoot at all, but focus purely on Eisley (purEisley?). Coo'.

The next NYC (and Farmingdale, LI) show is at the end of March. To further spread Eisley's world domination, someone has to get a bootleg *cough* - or better yet, Boyd could hook us up. After bootleg endowment, Eisley might finally have a chance to get played on DD, instead of just being endorsed, as they have this silly thing about local artists or local venue bootlegs. Or not.

I remember when this happened. A good friend of mine from our Campus Radio Station had met Beatz several times and they often e-mailed back and forth. It really put a damper on everyone's Halloween, but it was hard to think of the loss of such a good person.

It is nifty that they are into Eisley though.
