Hey,
thanks for coming back to clear this up. Boyd and I tried to research it, but could not find out anything, so instead of having people believe what was written, it was better to delete it.
People tend to believe what they see written, no matter how crazy it can sound to their sense of truth.
I will say, it was creative.

thanks again for helping to clear this up.

Yeah. You said it.

And when I posted this thing originally, I said at the end of the post something along the lines of: I made this all up. Please don't take it seriously.

Oh well.

For the record, I wasn't trying to insult anyone. I really like this band...I have showed up to support them in concert, bought Merch, and oushed their CD's on my friends. This is what's called parody. And what exactly is insulting here? Frankly, I thought the whole thing was patently ridiculous enough that nobody would take it seriously, and just chuckle. I mean c'mon. Hidden messages in Eisley music played backward? Rhyming Pentateuch with kook? Yeeeeesh.

Unless, there is a conspiracy...and the band doesn't want it to get out...Room Noises vinyl LP owners, contact me.

The above is a JOKE. A JOKE.

unless duly noted, i take everything straight as its presented... and you presented it as fact. and parody is usually funny, not accusing.

I remember that and I take no offense (then or now), but your blog doesn't say that.

Thanks. But for the above, I edited my blog post...it originally stated that I had grossly misappropriated the band's intellectual prooperty and names for this piece"....that means, made it up. But now it's even clearer there.

But thanks, BNROCKS. You're right.

I never saw a disclaimer anywhere...and I looked.

Still, BNRocks obviously enjoyed the band being verbaly misrepresented, and then seeing it put down in written form. I just don't get it, or see the fun in it.
When you say things about people, (and by you, I mean anyone), and especially "quote" them, you should have your facts straight. You can cause a lot of harm in people's lives, and careers by "making up" false things for "fun".

Well...I can understand the point of the post being a joke. I, for one, thought it was an actual article until I got toward the end of it. Nothing really screamed "parody/joke" to me, and I suspect that some others took it as fabricated truth.

Evidently, I can't get the point across that this was in good fun and should be treated as such. It's sad, and I totally didn't expect this response. I expected "chuckle...ridiculous". Because it was, so obviously made up. While it's flattering, in a way, that my parodies are that believable, it's also disturbing that so many people here think I'm attacking the band. I've stated twice here, and once in PM with Kim that I have the utmost respect for the band...but still she seems to think I was putting them down in verbal form.

This is the end of it, and this thread needs to be locked. As a parting note, please, if you thought that was real, and were offended, don't ever go to www.theonion.com or pick up The Onion newspaper...or buy an Onion book. They were my inspiration for this.

done.

pm me for anything

EDIT: Kim was going to make a final post then lock the thread but I beat her to it. Her post brings some more closure so I copy/pasted it below

I just want to clear the air. I think a lot of this reaction is about timing. Things were being posted, while pm's were being sent and received.
Once I understood what the article was, even though I still don't agree with doing that kind of thing, I did realize that DeChelonianMobile did not have evil intentions towards the band. I hope everyone else realizes that too.
Sincerely,
k
