I stumbled upon an Arcade Fire fan site forum...

I love the smilies on there! Could you guys maybe come up with something similar? It would be ever so cool.

Here are some of them. They are just stinkin' cute.

I love those faces. Very Happy

i think that there should be language filters which change the names of the kids in the band and the name 'eisley' when people type them.

i, for one, am too lazy to capitalise a lot of the time, so for example, when i type sherri, the filter could change it to Sherri.

that would save time. Very Happy

wouldn't it be cool if you could bookmark topics? like when you login you have your own personal forum with topics you're interested in from other forums.

You mean forums across different websites, or just on LC (General, Music, etc.) ?

In a long-term, pipe dream sort of way, I've thought about implementing a tagging scheme within LC as well as a possible rating system so you can browse by thread popularity.

Emphasis on long-term and pipe dream. I don't have the time for this in the immediate future. Besides, we all know we need a RSS feed of General before that comes along. Very Happy

oh i was just thinking within laughing city. a moderation system like on slashdot would be interesting, if that's similar to what mean.

i'm working on it actualy. i wrote a screenscraper for general that parses out topics and then outputs the xml for the actual feed. Testing aside, it should be ready tonight.

i went ahead and finished the parser i was working on. It updates every 10 minutes and gives you a little bit different info then the feed gregor made. It has the posts/views count as well as the name of the last poster. Also, in the description it will tell you if the topic is an announcement, sticky, locked thread, busy thread or just a regular thread but it doesn't have the first post in the description like gregor's.

RSS feed: http://www.straylight6.org/chad/rss/sunfeet.xml

source for the parser is http://www.straylight6.org/chad/rss/Sunfeet.java.txt
