Typical concert experience, except a million times more amazing. Got there pretty early, waited in the cold drinking an iced chai latte... met som new friends/fans... typical. The girls (Sherri, Stacy, and Christie) passed by and picked fun at us for being out so early in the cold, telling us to "go home." That was just a sneakpeak at what the day had in store...
We got to watch the soundcheck through the door. We could hear it very well. I remember hearing an unfamiliar beat and yelling "SHUT UP IT'S A NEW SONG. I BET IT'S INVASION." Also, swaying and singing along to Memories outside by the door is obviously the cool thing to do.

Blah blah blah, cold cold cold, yadda yadda yadda. The line finally started growing (incredibly) and FINALLY at like 6:15 the doors opened. Igaveflowerstostacy (John Michael, here from LC) and I were the first in. I love the sense of "accomplishment" that one gets when he is first inside the venue. Anyways, during set ups we got to be delighted with the sounds of Will Smith, Shania, and Hasslehoff. Then Brighten played and was amazing, of course. Simon Dawes was incredibly energetic and fun, but played 20 extra minutes due to some kind of problem. Finally Eisley came on. We could see the set list from our standing spot, so we were reading it in awe at the incredible song choice. So the show went on, every song was great, especially the new ones. Halfway through Boyd announced to Sherri about the fire marshall deal and we found out about them having to quit at 10. We were bummed, but we only got jipped from 4 songs, so it wasn't that terrible.
Once the shortened-set was announced and they started chopping up the set list, I began screaming SUNFEET at every opportunity. Sherri finally was like "We're going to play Sunfeet for this dude." So that was nice. When the concert ended I hunted down Boyd and asked if the band was still going to sign. He didn't know, so he went backstage and came back with a signed poster for a fellow Laughing Citizen and myself... that was super nice. I still ended up meeting the band (minus Weston). They were all super sweet and super funny. In the end, I ended up with Sherri's pick, a set list, two shirts, pictures all around, and I got a signed poster and got them to sign my RAZR... So I guess I came out pretty lucky, eh? The 6 hour drive was definitely worth it. I'm sorry for you guys who couldn't even BUY merch, let alone meet the band or anything.

I realize these are a week late. It took a week before I could get to my dad's house to upload them. I'm a pretty cruddy photographer, as you'll see. Enjoy...

The Brighten boys are amazing. Very nice, very funny.

I believe I was attempting the "WalMart" gangster sign, and it came out more like MartWal.

/End.

That dang sore throat evil sickness was bothering him. He wasn't up to par to be out and about, said Sherri.

Like three. But this was in Nashville on a school day. Once like 4:30 hit, the line went from like 15 to a good 150-200. Then by 5:30 there was probably 350-400. And by the time doors opened, as Boyd/the fire marshalls said, there weer at least 450, at the most over 500.

I've had friends in other cities get there at like 1 and still not be first in line, so I don't know how it works out for ever venue/city.

Ok, when did the super-awesome Larivee get replaced by a Gibson Hummingbird? Last time I saw an acoustic in tow was a J-45. Are they switching to Gibson acoustics or something? I want a Hummingbird.
