EDIT: this is a funny pic. you can barellly see me, but im here.
Finally, after a long weekend and a hard day of school, I can sit and do this. So, here's my long re-tell and crazy amount of (HQ) pics. I live in San Antonio, so my mom and I flew to Dallas for the show. We got to the Granada at around 6, and I saw Caley and Jamie already there:) There were some girls in line who needed a ticket, and we had a third, so we gave it to them and they let us in line. My mom and I took turns sitting in the freaky-looking wheelchair that the hotel provided for us. (The plan to bring mine fell through so I was stuck sitting in a beat up, narrow brown thing). I found out that the people to whom we gave our ticket were from louisiana. They were so excited and impatient, it made me smile. Every time the door opened, someone would be like "Chauntelle!" "Christie!". When the doors opened, I wanted to get merch first but my mom said no (this is a vital part of my story. hah.)We managed to find a spot about 5 "rows" from the front and I could see very well. Most of the time i stood, but my mom sat in the wheelchair so if I got tired, I could sit on her lap. Luvbeat came on first, and to my surprise, i loved them! "8 Bits of Rage" had me laughing I think it was during their set that everyone started dancing in depends, as well?
After that was Brighten. Chauntelle was their sub guitarist. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the new song called "Darling Nicotine"? Whatever it is, I had it stuck in my head all day today. I've heard lots of people say that they don't like Brighten at all
Now, I'm not trying to be mean, but I think that Simon Dawes seriously overplayed their welcome. I honestly think that the one song they played all slow-like, was 10 minutes long. I have to admit, though, that guitarist was amazing Eisley finally came on at around 9:30! They opened with Mr. Pine. Shortly thereafter, they played Marvy Things, and i swear everyone in the place was singing along. Sherri told us about a cat that had been on Brighten's tour bus all tour, and they had it strapped to her mic stand. She took it off and gave it to Stacy.
The only new song that I hadn't heard was Taking Control. It's beautimous! During I Wasn't Prepared, The guitarist from SD came out and stole the spotlight. It was really cool.
I got really excited during ICBTFY, as it is my favorite new eisley song. I was singing along and stuff
The new Stacy setup is not my favorite thing in the world, cause you can't see her face, and apparently she's not a tuck the hair behind the ear type of person. I shot this picture during Escaping Song, though.
After ending with Many Funerals, There came an encore complete with a gasp-inducing banner drop
During Trolleywood, everyone came out for a Final Noise Finale. I think this is a really cute picture!
After the set ended, we went first to the bathroom where i met an interesting girl i believed to be drunk who kept giving me high fives. Then on to the merch table, where I was disappointed to learn that they were out of my size in EVERYTHING! I wanted the toe woman shirt really bad, but all they had was an adult large. So, i ended up getting the froggiphant, which is a bit long on me since they didnt have any youth sizes but a S. I could have fit into that, but i dont think that it would be very comfortable. I met Boyd for a little minute afterwards. He and Jamie took us around to the back and boyd got my poster signed. (Thank you, Boyd and Jamie!) and finally, this may be my favorite picture:

Thanks for sharing the story and pictures. And you're welcome. Here's hoping for a quick run in the studio, or at least a studio break tour. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Hey there chica! Man, that was an awesome show! I wish I could've seen you after the show, but my friends were all "I'm tired" so we headed out and went home. Gosh, that had to be the best Eisley show I've ever been to because of all of the love they showed us. It was quite the experience, was it not? Again, I'm so happy to have met you! You're freaking amazing. Hopefully, in the shows to come, we'll see one another at 'em. _________________ "I cannot discuss your verses; for any attempt at criticism would be foreign to me. ugh i didnt' know you were princesstripandfall. i was there with Jamie when he got your poster signed after the show. Me, jamiga, Jamie's brother, lantz and tyler durden were out by the signing line in the back. If we'd known you were a boardie we would have all come over and said hello. Seems like every show i find out later that i was standing right next to a laughing citizen and didn't know it haha. _________________ "Religions have started on lesser revelations" - investor on MarketWatch.com |
