hmm so finally having a huge amount of time with which to write a post about my Eisley adventures last week...here it goes! Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006 Tulsa, Oklahoma I had decided to go to this show way back when the tour had been announced, having no means of transportation I invited a friend along who had never even heard of Eisley. so the day came for the concert and we traversed Oklahoma (starting point was Norman) and arrived in Tulsa with plenty of time to score some free P.F. Changs yummy banana roll things (sooo good) the venue (the Legendary Cain's Ballroom) was easy enough to find so we got in the will call line and awaited entrance! upon arrival i immediately noticed that i wasn't as hip as everyone else given the fact that my hair was in no way asymmetrical and i was just missing the whole "fresh out of myspace" look...but it didn't matter we were there for Eisley! I had no idea what Boyd actually looked like (aside for some pictures that had been posted on the journal) but i thought i spotted him (looked for the guy setting up the camera in the back) and went to introduce myself...he was a very very nice person to talk to and all around very cool, he got a kick out of me sporting my ebay-ed weston shoes...also got around to meeting Christie who is also very nice and fun to talk to. well the show started and brighten was pretty cool...but even cooler since Chauntelle took the stage with them...man she can rock. during the Simon Dawes set (which i thought was phenomenal) Chauntelle went out to hang by the Merch table so my friend and i wandered over there to say hi, the funniest/coolest moment was them having a mini-fight over who was the bigger Waterdeep fan, twas quite neat Eisley took the stage and all was awesomeness and wonderdom...seriously having first listened to Mr. Pine and the Winter song in the winter of 2003 it's been a long wait to finally see them live...the set was amazing a great mix of old and very very new... so the show was great but ultimately the evening ended kinda badly, when i had invited my friend she had neglected to tell me that she hated concerts so she was very cranky and grumpy the entire time because of the noise level...and she wanted to leave early...obviously this caused a problem...we stayed until the end, but didn't talk very much on the 2 hour ride back home....but things are alright now! well that was my Tulsa Adventure, and i'll start another reply for part II....Dallas! _________________ |

Ha ha! That happened to me too! Everyone looked cool and I looked so boring. Anyhoo, I'm glad you had a fun time! (which is expected at an Eisley show) _________________ :* |

hmm, so has anyone ever taken the Amtrak trains? i mean anywhere? well i was aware of the fact that a train left Norman to Dallas every day...so at the last possible minute (and not being able to find a ride with my friends from school who were going) I decided to take the train down to Fort Worth Texas... It was by far one of the most spur of the moment plans i have ever carried out, i mean i called Amtrak at midnight to reserve a spot and was on the train at 8:40 that morning....it was so off the cuff that i packed very little and by that i mean, only the clothes i was wearing, a laptop, a book and my hopes and dreams.... i really didn't know what to make of the train crowd...uhm...old...well older...much older, but it's such a nice relaxed way to travel that i can see why senior citizens take the train i arrived in Fort Worth and waited for my brother in law to pick me up from the station we drove out to Irving (where they live) and had Steak 'n Shake...then we headed out to an art show festival thing, and an Imax movie...a good day with the sister and brother in law that was capped off by the concert at night! arrived at the Granada at about 7 and picked up my ticket...didn't have to wait long outside since they opened all the doors and were kinda in a rush to let people in.... wandered around for a bit and found my friends from OU...stood with them and enjoyed LUVBEAT!! they were soooo awesome, bought their EP and a headband immediately following the set.. ran into Boyd (who seemed especially busy) and he recognized me and my weston shoes, had some polite chat and he went on his Busy Boyd way (seriously one of the nicest people i've ever met) brighten and simon dawes were both quite excellent as well...and oh the hijinks that ensued...there were many hijinks...like garron and weston taping the brighten bass players mike stand at like 7 ft. and the pie-ing of simon dawes by eisley... Eisley was once again amazing, and it was a good crowd that actually sang very very well...it was like being in a massive randomly assembled choir.. once again more hijinks ensued and the evening was overal...magical..the fun really really got going during Trolley wood with the beach ball throwing and general knees bent running about of everyone on stage... after the show i finally got to meet Kim (Kimbertones) and she was also incredibly nice to speak to (and also laughed at the fact that i wore my weston shoes) so all in all it was an excellent two show experience, i consider myself incredibly lucky to have been able to attend both shows and hope that you have as much adventure on your next Eisley outing as i did _________________ |

Well remember Stacy went through a stage with the myspace look and taking the pictures at the weird angles. But I'm glad she did, otherwise we wouldn't have so many great pictures of her _________________ I know how I was born and I know that I have no choice.
