they need to come play again.

But where do you think the best venue, out of all of Scotland is?

I'm thinking sound-wise. Not, like, numbers or anything.

Out of the top of my head...

Glasgow
Barrowlands
ABC
King Tuts
Academy
Nice N Sleazy's
The Garage
Barfly

Edinburgh
Corn Exchange
Three Tuns
Cabaret Voltaire
The Venue (which is actually closing down in about 2 weeks time. but if it were still open, would you have Eisley play there?)
Caledonian Backpackers Swamp Bar
Whistlebinkies
The Liquid Rooms
Bannermans

Dundee
The place Kt Tunstall played when she did that secret gig... yeh know. the purple place. Kinda near Lidyll...

I say either Tuts or cab Voltaire.
Ideally cab Voltaire.

But out of those venues, I've only been to 11. All but the one in Dundee, ABC, Nice N Sleazy's, and the Academy, and the Barfly

They need to do a headlining tour at smaller more outer place venues.. it would work well with the fact they like small places and history and stuff ^^ I could see them walking round some random surf town in cornwall to the high hills of scotland!

Ive gotta say just because of a closeness to my wee heart I've always pictured Eisley in Tut's. Ive experienced the sound being good and bad in there but I think the venue's perfect. Good wee intimate gig I think it'd go down well.... for me anyways Smile

i remember seeing the futureheads at the liquid rooms. Only bout 50 people turned up, good gig, good venue, just no one there. apart from that, i dont know scotland all that well.

Newcastle - they should play the Cluny. or upstairs in the academy where they plaed last week. or the small hall in the sage, thats pretty cool.

I think either the Barfly (because its right on the river front so it would be a nice view for them to go out and take pictures of their beautiful selves)
Or King Tuts. Intimate venues are always the best, I think it would suit Eisley better than a massive venue. They could always play more than one day eh!

How many holes does it take to fill the Albert Hall?

i've been to Barrowlands (Eisley, TBS), ABC (Raconteurs), and The Garage (mewithoutYou). ABC was my favourite, but the Garage was pretty good too... if they want a small gig, they should come to the Venue, the only (literally!) place to play in Dumfries. *sigh* lol.

wow. actual humans from Scotland on our forum... talking about what venues Eisley should play. (shakes head) In order to feel the impact of that... you have to be me; and be able to remember our first message board... a year before this one ever began. Back then, it was a big deal to talk about the hope that the band might one day get to do a show in Dallas... "Trees", "Gypsy Ballroom"... That was a big dream. It freaks my head out that the same conversations are taking place in Scotland.

Just wanna say thanks.

Well Boyd, you know a band has reached popularity when they're being talked about in Scotland. Razz

They really do need to play somewhere though, King Tut's is ideal

Er, it would have been more than a year... Eisley has been playing Trees and Gypsy for at least 2-3 years now. (have the tickets stubs... somewhere... to prove it) At least 2 NYs shows at Trees, as I recall and that doesn't include this year.

Heh, as a local I miss the days when you guys JUST played locally. Of course the last place I saw you was in Boston, and I am STILL stuck here..

Humourously enough two of the girls near me were from Tyler and in Boston for college. (I am from Longview myself)
